Seems highly unlikely this foray will work out, but the idea of something other than KSE owning the club is a nice dream. It's great that Henry, Vieira and Bergkamp support change, their authority is significant.

I would initially have said it was too good to be true but having those 3 backing it is significant in terms of pressuring Kroenke into selling.

Aye but it doesn't look like he can afford it without doing that. And bringing the ex players in may just be rolling a turd in glitter so its presentable.

Hmmm. But before Spotify came out everyone was pirating all the songs too. They didn't earn more isn't it? Hard to tell.

All he did was forcing them to sell their music for what is tantamount to free while he makes money off it. And when they complain that they're getting exploited he tells them they don't make any money because they have poor work ethics.

What was happening to artists before? The music industry has always had a massive skew in distribution of rents towards production houses and distribution houses versus artists. We still hear about Puffy and his rappers to this day. The reason is simple. These guys put up the capital and take the risk of getting the music into our hands. The alternative is for every artist to own channel and distribute direct to customer. Or go back to Sean Parker and Napster.

In any case, Spotify guy has offered both a fan group board seat and a ‘golden share’ to give supporters a veto

This is like saying it doesn't matter if your employer exploits you because it's better to work in a coal mine for a few bucks an hour with no health insurance than starving homeless on the street. That's not the baseline for the discussion. What matters is that he's an incorrigible asshole, just listen to him talk. I can't be fucked with these people.
