if we can get outplayed by brighton and eintracht at home, anything can happen yo
leicester won the title. we can get relegated
We won't get relegated but can definitely see us finish around midtable, maybe on the lower side of it, if we don't straighten up. Maybe 12th place in the league will shake things up.
God I hate everything about the people who run this club. How the fuck did we go from Wenger shooting himself in the foot to Raul Sanllehi shooting us all in the face?
i'm making a bet on relegation. if by some miracle we go down, i have to at least get something out of it.
Thing is not only are we disorderly but we are the weakest team from a physical stand point in the league and have been for years. Boils my piss it does.
we need 7 wins to get to the 40 point mark. hold on tight

This. We look so weak and desperate when chasing back (which is 5,000 times per game) against all opposition.

lol i cant even think of 7 games we would have a good shot at winning. we've already played a lot of the shit teams at home, and given our away form, i think we'll be lucky to win 1 or 2 more away from home all season.
home games left
watford - maybe
norwich - maybe
everton - i doubt it, unless they hire a terrible manager, then maybe
west ham - possible, will be tough
newcastle - seems unlikely
sheffield united - will probably put 4 past us
united - doubtful
chelsea - no
city - no
leicester - no
liverpool - lmao
away fixtures
everton - maybe
southampton - do we ever win there? i doubt it
west ham - doubtful
bournemouth - eh, maybe
brighton - will probably put 5 past us
burnley - will probably be 1-1, with them having 23 shots on target
tottenscum - no chance
palace - we struggle there
wolves - seems really unlikely
chelsea - no
man city - i have a better chance of banging jennifer aniston
find 7 wins from our fixture list.
Arsenal have faced 52 shots on target in Premier League home games this season - in the entire Invincibles season in 2003-04, they allowed just 48 opposition shots on target at home.
fucking incredible.
emery gutted this team completely. he allowed the inmates to overrun the asylum. the senior players look like they dont give two shits. the youngsters have no adequate mentors. wenger left it in rough shape, but it was never close to this bad for him, even at the end. we are a rudderless ship and i see a sea full of icebergs in the distance
No one is too big to get relegated. It happened to Leeds in their prime, it could happen to us too. Our defence is arguably the worst in the league and that’s a recipe for relegation.

Perhaps relegation would be the catalyst for genuine change for good?
It would actually be more entertaining watching us in the Championship
Anyways I’m pretty much at the stage where I’m past caring

It’s getting hard to care. But we are here so there’s still something. The problem with Arsenal is that we haven’t had a sudden issue like a manager departing and everything suddenly falling apart. What’s sad is that we’ve been dying slowly, like we’re suffering from a cancer. So no alerts have been raised. Nobody has has had to hustle to solve an imminent crisis.
But what has happened is over the years under-investment, poor scouting, revolving door of leaders has led to a consistently declining average league position. It’s been gradual, but we’ve gone from 1st/2nd to consistently top 4, to struggling to get into top 4, to 5, and now this. As an organization we do not have a competitive DNA. We have not put the systems in place to ensure that we are consistently at the top of the table, wherever it’s elite scouting, aggressive squad turnover, building a resilient mentality, etc. and in the absence of these systems, I do not see how we turn around this season or this clubs fortunes. It’s not as easy as just appointing a manager. He will also need access to funds and scouting. He will need quick decision-making. And then he will have to overcome the rotten attitude that has consumed the squad over these barren years.
Old man Wengs did a better job on his tod than our so called modern management structure. Says it all.
The continual emptying of the stadium is my only catharsis now.
We'll finish in the bottom half similar to Mourinho's last season at Chelsea.
We won't do shit in the Europa either with that defense.
Poor Freddie has been given a lopsided squad with confidence at its lowest. Any manager would struggle badly here at the moment.
Oh to be a gooner.
The club has been mismanaged overall for the past 10 or so years. We acted with total complacence when we were top 4 as if no-one would ever threaten us so we didn't need to improve the squad/aim higher. Wenger is as responsible for the failures in that period as anyone.
The board/owners are a joke, it's clear we don't have anyone that cares about the club so that dither and delay exemplified by the handling of the Emery situation. Waited too long and actually don't seem to have planned for his sacking hence they are taking about taking their time for a replacement.
It's difficult to see a way forwards from here as it would require a whole new mindset from the owners now and I just can't see it. They've successful overseen are decline to an average mid-table side. I fully expect it to get worse because Abby good players we may have will be picked clean by other big clubs and we'll have little to keep their interest.
Mismanaged from top to bottom, but some of the problems are just basic stuff that can be fixed immediately. Why is Luiz and Sokratis still playing together? It's clearly not working. It's the worst cb pairing in the league. Why isn't Pepe starting? Say what you want about him, but he's taking on defenders and creating mismatches and chances. I haven't seen many players cause that many problems for van Dijk for instance. Drop Lacazette and play Aubameyang in the middle. Lacazette is clearly out of form. And on and on...
Ultimately cheaping out and replacing Per and Kos with Sok and Luiz was a monumental fuck up, and has cost us badly for two seasons.
Pepe plays football like he's on the street. Goes for the kill every time and loses the ball 9/10. It's not surprising he doesn't play.
