There's no way he's going to spend 14 days in self-isolation if he's not showing any symptoms and the tests keep coming back negative, is there? What kind of shithousery is this?
Squad management
I think it's just papers making assumptions. Like I said Gabriel was training with us well before his 14 day isolation period was over.
of course he has to spend 14 days, he was exposed and the virus can be undetected until it surfaces. We're having problems with a potential 3rd wave over here because establishment assumed only 2 negative tests 3 days apart were enough - and that's from individuals who weren't confirmed exposed.

I think you can easily play on the counter with a 4-3-3 as well, just without Willian. Xhaka can even drop deep to effectively make it a 3-4-3.
Leno
Bellerin Luiz Gabriel Tierney
Partey - Xhaka - Ceballos
Pepe - Auba - Saka

Makes absolute sense to register him if he's still here. We have one left back other than him.

It’s crazy to think but other than Bellerin And Xhaka all of those players have been signed post 2018. Nuts.

That looks tasty. No Tierney though
I'm basing that on that Tierney doesn't have to stay in quarantine if the test is negative. Like someone said, Liverpool didn't postpone the matches when Mane tested positive, even though every first team player had been in contact with him.
It’s not the whole Scotland squad though, Tierney was just deemed to have had ‘close contact’.

That's what I mean. Surely all the Liverpool players are in close contact in training. Not a single Liverpool player dropped out of the match other than Mane, did they?
From Arsenal.com
The Scottish FA have today announced that Southampton player Stuart Armstrong has returned a positive test for COVID-19 while on international duty with the Scotland men's national team.
Within the announcement, the SFA confirmed that all other members of the squad have returned negative results.
However, the Lothian Health Protection Team in Scotland have identified two players and two members of the backroom staff as 'close contacts'. As a consequence, our defender Kieran Tierney and Celtic player Ryan Christie - along with one physiotherapist and one masseur - have been advised they will require to self-isolate for 14 days as of yesterday (Tuesday, October 8).
Our medical team have confirmed that Kieran was socially distant at all times from the player who tested positive and has broken no rules regarding COVID-19 protocols. We are currently seeking further advice and clarification of the details.
Kieran has also been in touch and has said: "I'm so disappointed and frustrated to be in this situation. I have adhered to all regulations and made sure I was socially distancing from my team mates in the hotel. I've also tested negative. I know Arsenal and the SFA are now in discussions with the Scottish authorities to gain a further understanding."
Ozil and Sokratis to be left out of Europa League Squad according to reports. Can't say we didn't expect that

No, and not only didn't they drop out after Mane was confirmed - no Liverpool player dropped out after Thiago was diagnosed with covid, and he was by all accounts scouse patient zero. So someone please explain to me again why Tierney can't play for us if his tests show negative and he has no symptoms? How on earth is he going to infect anyone if there isn't any measurable virus in his nasal cavity?
It's an absolute farce.

I don't get it at all. If you have to be quarantined anyway as long as you've been in close contact, have Liverpool simply told the world that Mane didn't come close to any other player in training and gotten away with it?

Thiago had it before our game, which Mane played, then Mane had it so its safe to assume their distancing wasn't adequate.
This is such an interesting stats map. It was done for the first half of last season for Xhaka and Torreira. Basically what you see is an average central midfielder with good passing stats because he is cautious with the ball. He is not particularly distinctive. In fact, Torreira who is a really good defensive mid, would've benefited from being next to someone with more adventurous passing and running with the ball to enhance him. Xhaka has to go. Definitely the weak link in this entire set up.
That’s a really weird assessment to make, because it’s based on a period in which by all accounts Xhaka atrocious and got booed off the pitch. It’s also a period where Torreira was playing as a 10, so I’ve no idea what comparison can be made. What’s the relevance of the first half of last season?
Torreira’s best performances for us by the way, when he won like 5 MotM awards, came next to Xhaka in a box to box role in his debut season. He’s no doubt a good player for me and I defended him longer than most on here, but whatever his issues were in his time here, it’s definitely not Xhaka.

There have been some straight up crimes against football committed at this club in recent years.

If you look for earlier maps they aren’t much different like I said. Xhaka is not an elite midfielder. The interesting thing about these maps is that they generally confirm what you see with your eyes. The Statsbomb guys have captured data that describes the way people play and impact a game.
I haven’t seen one for the second half of the season but I doubt it is that different. He probably has even better passing and retention numbers there in line with our more conservative play.
