Sure is - nice to see some speed and overtaking. The halo did it's job for Lewis today. So happy for Danny Ric, even with team orders although Danny had fastest lap as well maybe?

No way Norris was passing him even without team orders though. Ric had more pace on hand anyway. He led throughout, not even a lucky win was well deserved

100 wins for hamilton. Max finishes 2nd though, so that new engine gamble paid off.

Norris, sigh, should've changed tires. Hopefully he learns from that.

Absolutely fucking gutted for Norris. He wanted to gamble like Brad Binder last month in Moto GP but the weather just didn't like him.

Yep, I stayed up and watched that with my son. Absolutely gutted for Norris. He gambled and got so close. It would have been soooo close if he'd changed as well, but Hamilton was in the better position in second as it turned out. You win some etc etc.

He'll get there though I'm sure, he's a great young driver.

Meanwhile Oscar Piastri seems like he will win F2 championship after also winning F3, but no seats likely to be available for him next year. Needs Alonso to retire I guess. Apparently you can't race in F2 for more than one or two seasons?

Nope. The champion of F2 can't stay in the series. When they made F2 they figured teams will be snatching the champion.

Weird there's no hype on Piastri at all. Zhou is getting the Alfa seat reportedly

I imagine the F1 hierarchy would love a Chinese driver - opens up huge marketing opportunities - that would be a cynical view I guess, I haven't followed it very closely. Drivers have always found it easier if they bring money in some way - marketing or Daddy. I guess there have been plenty of excellent drivers in F2 and elsewhere who have found it difficult to get into F1.

hamilton's mercedes this weekend was stupidly fast, he literally blew past 25 cars and beat Verstappen by 10 seconds.

they might as well keep putting in a new engine every week because a 5 place penalty is a joke when you get 0.5-1 seconds faster than the competitors every lap.

Yeah his car is super weird this week in a RB track he made every other car look like f2.

Did Valteri have the same engine or just Lewis? Hamilton is a freak either way.

Ferrari pulling clear into 3rd now in the Constructors. Their new engine starting to pay dividends.

I think Max just has to come second in the next 3 races to win - Mercedes wouldn't shunt him off the track anywhere would they? Would they?

yeah, definitely wild with all the crashes and penalties. Track is narrow with speedy blind corners, recipe for trouble!

Now it comes down to Abu Dhabi with both verstappen and hamilton tied. That mercedes has got to be the strong favorite, hamilton was setting fastest laps with a broken front wing. Whatever they did to their car since Brazil has made them insanely fast.

Gonna be a big race tonight. Max on softs so pit strategy will be really important. Race could be won off the track, or indeed lost at the first corner. Lewis probably knows he’s got the faster car over the course of the race and the pressure on Max will be tremendous. How will he and the team handle things? Can’t wait to see.

Mercedes lodged a double protest already. Won't end well.

That's clearly not really fair at the end with the made up rules but have to say overall what goes around comes around.
