Nkunku has 13 assists in his debut season for them.

Combine that with his relentless energy and he's 22.

That's far more of the end product with work rate than many other touted players in the forum.

Also regarding upamecano.

The chance to get him was this year.

Next year all the top clubs will be in for him.

Even if it's G89 I have to agree here. Nkunku is the POTS for Leipzig and easily their most creative player

It’s still a massive head-scratcher for me why PSG tossed him out. Could’ve used him last night
Feel like Upamecano is POTS. Led a very miserly defense which was beset with problems due to constant injuries for Konate. And as you saw from this game, he’s actually the passing hub of the team and very often the one controlling the pressure gauge.

I think it is more down to PSG youngsters feeling that they have no chance of making through to the first team as regulars.

They have one of the best academies in France but the amount of graduates who leave them every season is quite a lot.

Am curious what this loss does for Simeone's position at the club. He seemed untouchable for the longest time but it seems like there are a few holes emerging with their fans starting to voice their disapproval and this loss is not going to do him any favours.

Suppose the main question would be where he'd go if he did leave. Also how would Aletico cope?

Poch would be a good fit. But why are we firing El Cholo? Do you guys really think his ideas are outdated or he’s gone stale? He’s usually top 3 in la Liga and one of the better champs league performers.

On Upamecano. I can’t see how Guardiola could’ve watched last night’s game and not authorized an “at any cost” mandate to Begiristain to get him. He would solve all the issues he’s been having with his army of failed centrebacks. Lampard might be equally intrigued with his defensive woes. 🙁

Apparently he can go next summer for as little as £38m. I wonder if they'd consider a bigger bid this summer?

They're not pressed for money, but if Pep comes in his hobo gear and whips out his Centurion Card, I'm sure they'll settle on something in the 60m pound range.

The reporting is all over the place on his contracts.
He definitely had a 60m Euro release clause in his old contract
And he has a 42m Euro release clause that can be activated in 2021 in his new contract

What is not clear is if the 60m Euro release clause carried over into the new contract.

Maybe not, but I don't think they're stupid either. If they can get an extra £10m this summer I can't imagine they wouldn't at least consider it, in fact it wouldn't surprise me if that was the whole purpose of the new deal.

Or save him to sell next summer when hopefully the global economy has rebounded. Also gives them a chance to nurse Konate back to health and evaluate guys like Wober at Salzburg.
