Suarez's first touch to control the ball and get past the defender in one motion was just perfect. An elite striker makes all the difference. But we knew that

He's old and a bit out of shape these days, but, my word, what a player he has been.

Messi's change of direction is unreal

He's blows hot and cold these days. Often miscontrols the easiest of passes and has some absolutely awful finishes, but is still capable of stuff like today.

He's mostly finished. He used to do this every match about 4 years ago. But this is a special treat of late.

Not just any old defender either; this isn't Mané mugging of insert name of Salzburg defender, with all due respect to him and them. This was Suarez's countryman, Diego Godin, one of the best around. What a player.

Although, I do agree these sorts of things are becoming rare.

Agreed. Most of the days lately you want to tear your hair out after watching Suarez play upfront.

I'm hungry for this competition. Tired of playing Traktor Minsk and other such legendary teams. We belong in the Champions League. Players. like Auba, Douzi, Lacazette, etc. deserve to be on this stage

He does look slimmer than last season, I'll give him that.
Now, maybe, it's Busquets who needs to be put out to grass as Barca came alive after he got taken off.

Have you talked to that many Arsenal fans about whether or not Salzburg are braver than Arsenal?

I would need clarification regarding what's unclear in my question.

Brother, we deserve exactly what we’ve got.

Very impressed with the whole Red Bull setup.

I do agree with all the hue and cry about them being a corporate enterprise with no history but they have established a very good scouting network across the globe in just a few years.

Arsenal as a club with the resources we have at our disposal and a well established super club must do better.

I love how TB Salzburg losing to Liverpool is an indication of how bad Arsenal are somehow. The world makes no sense.

Ziyech is still hot shit. Makes me jealous seeing him balling for Ajax.

If we went 3-0 down to them, clawed our way back and still lost 4-3 I'm not sure people would be singing Emerys praises somehow.

I'm no fan of comparing results over different games (oh look Nowich beat City etc), but I do think there's something about how teams in Europe approach these games vs big sides compared how teams in the PL approach these games. The caution and fear is playing into Liverpool's hands in the league and our game is no exception.

If Emery lead his team to winning the Champions League 4 months earlier they would.

what does that have to do with Qwiss' post?

Emery praise or not as the case may be.

Because context is important. You don't even have to look at Liverpool to realise that, when Wenger's Invincible team came from behind and beat Middlesbrough 5-3 people were equally complimentary because it was a successful team and the occasional wobble was a novelty and a test. 10 years on and several unanswered question marks later, a comeback didn't really garner much praise for Wenger or Arsenal. Liverpool are currently enjoying the same halo effect so obviously people will be more lenient with them.

Qs was referring to praise for Red Bull Austria. How embarrassing for you.

Ten Haag is really one to watch. His brand of football makes me happy.

No wonder Salzburg players came out firing on all cylinders in the 2nd half. Hair dryer treatment

That was some great finishing from Serge Gnabry. He's a good example of how long it actually takes for a player to finally start delivering at the level you want, assuming they have the talent. He is 24 years old now and made his debut for us back in 2012!

Minamino looks a good player, just saw a replay of the game at Anfield and decided to Google him. Good scouting from Salzburg

18 days later

Aguero has missed so many sitters this season.

But the service is so good that he still scores loads.

City carving Atalanta open. I remember when we used to play like this.

Edson Alvarez is a really good player. Ajax has found another gem.

They are easily the most attractive team to watch in Europe, tearing Chelsea at will

Agree on Edson. Chelsea are giving them some problems with Hudson-Odoi though.

The Leipzig game is ridiculous. Great goals galore. Sabitzer with an absolute howitzer

Hudson-Odoi is not half the talent he's touted as, in my opinion. Very questionable technique, poor awareness and decision making in critical moments - and I don't think it's a question of experience either.

Abraham also looks lost in this company - and Ajax's defenders are not top players.

Mount is the one, for me, that looks like he has the level of technical, physical and mental qualities to make it at this level.

Clrnc wrote:

Didn't watch the game, but the first thing on my mind when I read this was that Ajax was going to lose. So predictable, unfortunately.

Ajax are a nothing team this season. Shows what a couple of top quality players can do to elevate a team.

Batshuayi showing Abraham up when he came on though. Transformed Chelsea in attack.

If they're a nothing team, is it then a good indicator that Abraham looks lost "in this company"? Because in the league Batshuayi looks much more lost than him.
