We were okay first half, I would personally say it was about even - Tottenham had their own defensive issues but overall we weren't creating much and at times the distance between the front three and the next three was an insult and allowed Tottenham to turn and counter at pace and we struggled again to win significant ball in the middle third of the pitch.
Second half though the fullbacks pushed right up and the midfield three played in a triangle instead of a flat line, with a centrehalf stepping in next to Xhaka as and when necessary and Xhaka dropping in to make a three when needed - we pinned spurs back and their inferior quality in tight spaces meant we won the ball time and time again. However, I would say that the vulnerability to counter attacks was very evident and I can see why Emery gets so jittery about playing that way - my argument though, is that we are just as vulnerable when we camp in our own half, so we need to be proactive and play on the front foot from the start.
I'd also say that Pochettino's game management was questionable and helped us out.
