You can't pick a inferior system or team just so that you'll have the option of improving it later. Besides, the Liverpool game suggests that really isn't the case given how late Emery left it to change it up.
Also the above suggests that Emery is somehow being forced into this due to a lack of options, I don't remotely buy into this. If he's forced into anything you'd imagine it would be to play that front three given that it's the strongest part of our starting lineup by a mile vs playing a 19 and 20yr old in an incredibly demanding midfield role.
