Yep, the Premier league is the only top league that's having serious teething issues. Out of curiosity are there any relatively young referees involved in the roll out of this project? The people that are involved in this are dinosaurs.
The PL need to stop funding the PGMOL and just create their own body. The PGMOL is at best not fit for purpose and at worst totally corrupt.
They're at best totally corrupt. At worst they're direct agents of Satan on earth

Everyone seems to agree.
The shambles of VAR has turned English football into a laughing stock... it is not fit for purpose

It's really unacceptable when the errors are so obvious and have expensive repercussions.
Premier League admit VAR made a MISTAKE in awarding Brighton a last-minute penalty against Everton last month... in result that piled the pressure on manager Marco Silva https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7666669/Premier-League-admit-VAR-MISTAKE-awarding-Brighton-penalty-against-Everton.html
The implementation of VAR is hampered, in large part, by anti-Var sentiment. Especially in the PL. If there were a system put in place with genuine good faith, it would be much better.
I think so too Coombs. The old twats don't want it to work. It has been nowhere near this bad anywhere else. You suspected it would be like this since the reprobates ruling English football always struggled to implement even the most basic rules long before VAR showed up, but still. Goon said it above: kick the trash out. PGMOL were never fit to officiate without technology and they're even less suited to officiating with it.
VAR is shit regardless but somehow the PL and the PGMOL has made it even worse.
Want to record that VAR assisted us rather well against Norwich. Very good use of the technology
It did its job for once. We've gotten so accustomed to it/refs fucking us over that an occurrence like yesterday or vs United becomes a praiseworthy instance
Perfect usage of VAR. Why can't we do this.
According to the responses to that tweet, apparently it is not usual for them to be mic'd up like that and it was a one off as the ref was going to join the Championship (EFL). Not sure why they'd have some sort of spectacle for a referee in the first place but there you go.
Not specifically talking about the mic up but more of the process of it. Go to the bloody screen if it's not clear.
It's done in Germany like that all the time. Still doesn't pick up everything of course but there's a world of difference to England where the result is PGMOL primates trying to figure out how this outlandish device works.

Disgraceful how many wrong calls are there this year by VAR
Looks like they want to tone down offside contribution of VAR

Inevitable. Offside calls have been a travesty. When it’s that close that they need to be moving those lines around to see where the toenail crosses the armpit hair, VAR has no business influencing the call.
They are aware that there's an error margin the technology isn't capable of handling, yet they choose to use it for those close situations as well. Travesty is the only right word for it, yeah.

It has to be a clear error for a foul, and usual by clear error that means it has to be absolutely outrageous from the ref to over turn it. Yet they over turn linesmen over this minute shit. Either ease up or change the offside law because this is bollox.
Why am I not surprised
I don't get the point of the table. Is it adjusted for bad VAR decisions or just VAR decisions in general? Are we pretending that VAR never makes correct calls now? Is there a comparable table for last season adjusted for bad refereeing decisions? What conclusions are we supposed to draw from this?
