Good to see the three guys running the club at the game. With their necks on the line, if Emery doesn't deliver, I think swift action will be taken.

If they're doing their job and providing him with good players, which they have done in my opinion, then I don't think they'd sit twiddling their thumbs if he's fudging his way through the season.

I thought he was good. Pace and power in abundance, and still so much more to come. I think he has to start getting games in one of the deeper midifeld roles at some point. I think the "10" role is holding back anyway, and so Willock should get games as one of the three. How the hell Lascelles didn't get booked after Willock ragdolled him though I do not know.

Really promising from the kid.

I thought he was really good in the first half too. Lascelles brought him down at least three times because Willock was about to leave him in the dust. Good work to win back the ball and start the counter that the goal came from too. Kid plays with a lot of gusto.

Edu is the technical director which is a different role to that of a director of football. Google describes it as a position which usually involves overseeing the signing of players designed to facilitate long-term strategy and continuity independent of a manager's remit with the team.
If that is correct, it would be strange for Emery, the coach, to have to report to him rather than Raul, the Head of Football.
Of course they have to liaise but i would think everything goes through Sanllehi, who they all report to (de facto COO).
Vinai, as managing director, is the most senior in the management structure.

Personally, I like the fact that Emery is giving him minutes in the front three minutes now. I agree that the 10 doesn't really suit his skill set at this stage and he should be moved back in midfield i.e. when the new guys are match ready. However, I actually like him developing in the front 3 initially as it forces him to be aggressive with his decision making closer to goal and more precise with his execution, which hopefully sharpens his attacking skills before he moves deeper. I've often thought our academy products lose their individuality when they come into first contention as they acquiesce to supporting roles. I think Willock has that explosiveness and timing that sets him apart from others and if harnessed right, makes him a unique attacking threat in our squad. He already has good touch and decent passing, but the more comfortable he is in that area of the pitch the better.
