I’m not sure he’s all that. That game at West Ham really put me off him. He’s weak physically

He’ll get stronger. I like his basics. There’s Lots of potential in there. Hope he’s able to step it up a bit and help out when the season resumes.

That’s your shell. We just need 4 WC defenders and midfielders to firm it up. But this can be the overall plan going forward. In my head, I’m past everyone else and we should be trading towards getting the strongest possible players who can help us complete something like this. We cannot change the past but we can be proactive in shaping the future.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert

I think Martinelli needs to show he can improve his touch significantly before we commit to him being a starter.

Even if he's competing with Auba or Laca for the next season or 2, it's fine.
I think the important thing is that there is a vision in place of where we are heading and we are recruiting towards that. It needs to be different to Wenger's formula of his random walk in the bargain basement and picking up a pair of jeans here, a top hat there, some sneakers, and a velvet jacket all because they were cheap and available. And then getting home and trying to fashion a look.

This guy is going to be a legend at the club soon. Proper captain material and you sense he will love the club. People are mistaken about his injury record because he was injured when he came but prior to this injury he has always been very fit at Celtic.

One of the best signings we would have made for a dirt cheap price.

Ricky was right about this guy all along. Others probably liked him as well, but Ricky's the one I remember.

Yesterday was a performance that showed what we expected from him when we're signed him: robust in defence whilst still capable of make serious contributions in attack. That being said, I definitely feel he's better suited to a LCB/LB than a LWB role but really pleased for him - my MOTM from yesterday.

Yeah. He was first onto him when folks were nervous about a Scottish League player.
This guy is the real deal. He’s better than the Liverpool fellow. Happy we don’t have to think about his contract for another 2 years

That was actually insane. Both because he had barely played for us at the time and because him having had a long-lasting injury doesn't automatically mean he's a crock.

Yeah. And people are actually judging our new signings when our team is performing badly, giving no time for them to adapt at all.

In addition to the guy's desire/commitment on the pitch, his technical ability is top notch.

First touch is excellent and his pass down the flank to Pepe before our second goal was more difficult than it seemed to get right. He was running at pace and weighted it perfectly.

Would make sense, but at the same time he wasn't described as a very attacking fullback and attackers turned defenders usually are.

Even though it's way too early and I think we desperately need a new CB, I could get excited about a Chambers Saliba Tierney backline if we're still playing 3atb. Obviously I have no idea how Saliba will do, but there's just something about fielding a defence without the luggage Luiz, Mustafi and Sokratis are carrying.

I think just replacing Mustafi with Saliba alone gives that entire defense a massive lift.

By the way, it sounds like Saliba is back in London and will miss the French Cup final next weekend.
