Gazidis is more Vinai than Raul. He should have stuck to getting commercial deals done, and had a real football guy like Raul alongside him, to deal with transfers. At least he got Wenger out and got Sven and Raul into the club.

Oh, he's definitely not a "Walcott", no. When you can dribble like he can the ball to feet is a must if there's nothing doing in behind.

Trust me though, his nose for space in behind is quite something. He sees it so quickly and has great timing. If opponents push up, one moment of switching off and he'll kill you.

I think this is by far the biggest signing in years in that Pepe is already at a high level but could potentially go much higher. When Ozil and Sanchez came we could see room for improvement, I remember thinking Wenger might bring more goals out of Ozil for example, but I don’t think with those two nor Aubameyang anyone would have though they could raise their game to a completely new level.

I've not watched him but I'm officially excited for the season now which I've not felt for years. Coming around to the idea of Ceballos too, even though I'm still not happy with the temporary nature of it. Desperately hope we improve the defence so this is not all for nothing, but feel like we might be exciting to watch again.

I find that i get a more realistic overview from watching the player's highlights from individual matches rather than goal highlights or the touch video highlights from multiple matches. In Pepe's case, i looked at several games like the below

Welcome to The Arsenal lad - congrats to all involved.

At the very least we now have genuine width, dynamic pace, and the ability to run at defenders so as to be able to unlock teams that sit deep. Our attacking play will be more direct and will make us more attractive and entertaining to watch.
