Sorry but I was talking about both. Their best XIs are difficult to compare due to their setup being so vastly different but there are a lot more game winners in Citys team than in Pools.

Also we can talk about the incredible depth of City but barely anyone talks about how piss poor Liverpool's bench is. I can see a Dortmund style collapse at some point in the future for them, right now they're golden but if they continue to neglect the few assets they have like Keita and rely on the same 12-13 outfield players for most games they will burn out at some point

Yeah, his tactics being about insane consistency but that doesn’t translate into wins against big teams. Even with Barca he needed Messi for that.

Why doesn't Messi win the CL every year even though he pisses on any player to ever play the game?

Because it's a cup competition. You need luck more than anything to get far, 38 games in a league are a much better yardstick for quality

Goon, you’re right that he hasn’t proven himself to be a mastermind who can consistently outwit the biggest teams. But he is consistent in a league season. And over 34 or 38 games that is what matters most and will see him winning league titles more often than not.

This is the bit that made me think otherwise because historical points against other teams pointed towards the league .

Yeah two separate points. I started by saying City wins more games vs Liverpool than the other way round, other than pointing to the quality of the players there isnt much to ascertain that view.

Liverpool have the far superior goalkeeper, every other area City either edges it or blows them out the water imo.
