We have to get the right balance between good decision-making and continuity. And I think this will require having faith in a wider team to help the ref.
I agree it can work without the ref leaving the field, provided the analysis team can overturn any decision they deem incorrect with the extra information they have available.
As things stand, with the VAR team only being able to overturn a glaring error and the ref not being able to review, it is a complete farce.
