I’m for the ref staying on the field and having trust in a video team. This is what happens in other sports. In the NBA for example, the back office has access to dozens of screens per game. When the ref needs a review, the back office quickly rewinds, reviews and makes a call within ten seconds.
We have to get the right balance between good decision-making and continuity. And I think this will require having faith in a wider team to help the ref.
