Such a strange way of looking at it, to me. To me the point is that Van Persie's performance of good manners was just as fake as his open letter to the fans. But it's not a hugely important point of difference!

I hate that. Not celebrating your goals should be for the likes of Henry and Wright, or Lampard when he scored for City against Chelsea. Not the average player, if you are not a club legend go and celebrate. The best thing Welbeck ever did in an Arsenal shirt was score and then celebrate against United.

False humility and insincere respect from van Persie was far worse than just celebrating.

Welbeck didn't celebrate because he wasn't a legend, but because he felt badly treated by the club/van Gaal (?).

Screw that. In line with the increasing specialisation of coaching teams, we should hire Adebayor as a goal celebration coach. Every player should celebrate goals with the same vigour Adebayor did when he sprinted the full length of the pitch to celebrate the 3rd goal of City's victory against us in 2009.

Against Chelsea in the fa cup final. Chased and harassed their CBs in that game. Danny had a lot of flaws but tactically he would always be spot on, Fergie always trusted him in big games as well. Just wasn’t that good at being a striker...
