His dagger at Baku cuts deep and he has a repulsive smugness but I am not sure I can blank out his service for Arsenal and regard him as a 'cunt'. I have gratitude for a player playing a good part in our past FA cups glories and putting in serious graft while with us, and with only limited skillset.

Anyway he's completely turned around Lampard's opinion of him from start to end of season, and I am sure solidified Deschamp's opinion. Lacazette is seriously behind in this battle for a berth at next years Euros - feel for our guy. Deschamps may even do a 180 on Benzema.

Edit: guess there's a full upcoming season until the next Euros to right wrongs. Disassociation n dat.

After "listening" to two post semi finals interviews I have to say it. How long it will take to premierleague clubs to buy mics for journalist and/or hire IT guy who would make sure online interviews are watchable? The standard is truly pathetic.

Giroud's work ethic, durability and aggression have always been exemplary which is why he's enjoyed longevity in his playing career despite his limitations.

Hope we get to reverse the ignominy of Baku now.

Don't get the hate for Giroud at all. If he suffers an injury I hope its a small one that keeps him out of the final because he's shown since the end of lock down he's still a player who can give any defence trouble.

Anyway he left us in a professional way, was always professional while he was here and now people hate him for celebrating beating us? Bit harsh IMO.

I think it goes beyond that Qwiss. Fans hate him because he was the personification of Arsenal's descent from prior glories. Where previously we had the brilliance of Wrighty, Henry and even Robin, we now had this poseur. I think he stands out most because of how easy it is to measure a striker's contributions, and many might dislike him simply because of what he represents rather than what he is.

Oh I know people hate him just because he wasn't a world class striker but thats just stupid. Its not his fault, he was always a committed player and was far better than most give him credit for.

I had no hard feelings for him when he left for Chelsea and wished him the best, but it's quite normal not to celebrate against your old club, and at least not in the fashion that he did.

I think that celebration + the pain of not being in the champions league was also triggering. I guess if Robin or any other escapee had done that, we would've still been fuming.

Giroud can go and do one really - the bigger concern is that we can't deal with him aerially.

We won't be able to bunker like against Liverpool and City, because they will cross balls in all day long to Oli's stupid bonce and he will win headers for fun - biggest reason why I wanted to avoid Chelsea.

I don't rate their defense though.

Big fan of Giroud the player but he was an absolute dick after the Europa league final.

His worst contribution in an Arsenal shirt was probably getting himself injured against Everton just in time for us to go acquire Danny Welbeck.

Not really his fault he wasn't good enough. Only good enough to be backup and the club at fault for not bringing in someone better.

He is however a cunt for how he has acted towards us after he left. We had to put up with a lot of fucking shit performances and on the whole the fans were quite supportive of him.

He's a funny player, he's not a goalscorer but ask Hazard or Greizmann who they'd like to start alongside. The trouble is we never really had anyone to play off Giroud.

Ultimately though he shouldn't start for a club with title winning ambitions.

Which was utterly meaningless by then because of all the other shitty behaviour, from trying to manipulate his contract situation to all the denigrating comments about Arsenal, with which he persists to this day. I'd rather Giroud's sincere effort when he was one of our players and unity with the ambitions of his new club any day. It's just a pity he lacked Van Persie's ability and Van Persie lacked his character.

Couldn't stand Giroud as a player and hate Giroud as a man precisely because of this kind of shit. Sticking with him for so long was one of the worst and most costly mistakes of Wenger's career. The best thing he ever did for is was to help facilitate Aubameyang's transfer by letting Dortmund have Batshuayi.
