i agree with this. it's the hoplite mentality. attack while also defending the weak spot of the guy next to you. i think there's quite a few liverpool players that are decent/good, but are boosted to very good/excellent because all the pieces fit together so well
it's also worth noting that they're getting by on pure desire in the last few league games. everytime i've watched them in the last month, they haven't really been in control of games, but they are persistent and have faith that their forwards will ultimately get them something. very reminiscent of fergie's united teams
