Someone figured out that Manchester City have averaged a goal every 34 minutes. Agüero averaging a goal every 106 minutes during that time becomes less impressive to me with that in mind, particularly if we're trying to determine the overall importance of a player to the rest of the team.

Henry is easily the much better player, Aguero might be a better pure goalscorer if that make sense?

Can't think of any kind of goal that Agüero would be better at scoring off the top of my head. Technique isn't better, pace isn't better. Striking of the ball isn't better. He's just smaller and weaker. Inside or outside the box I'd rather give the ball to Henry than to him.

He is class and has done it for a good amount of time, but there are a few strikers I would have ahead of Aguero.

Aguero is a top ten striker in England, possibly top five. Henry is at the bare minimum a top two striker and probably top two best player to have played in England. It's a no-contest as to who is/was better.

Fair enough. I still reckon Henry is a level above anyone else including Ronaldo for what he'd done in the PL era. He wasn't even here that long (what was it, 8 years or so with the last year and a half injury plagued) but he dominated to such a level so consistently that it has to be him. Ronaldo was great and had an amazing 2008/2009 but he left right when he got into his prime so didn't do it long enough in England for me. That said he did win 3 PLs and a CL so there's that in his favour on top of his 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 seasons. Maybe I'm just biased but judging only in terms of the PL Thierry was head and shoulders above anyone else.

Henry is the better player, but if I were to rank Premier League's "greatest players of all time" or something like that then Aguero would be valid competition for the same reason I'd rank Henry above Ronaldo in such a list despite Ronaldo being the better player.

Thats the kind of metric that makes Ryan Giggs the best left winger of the PL era though. There has to be a point where doing it for say 5 years at 9/10 level counts more than a decade at 8/10.

Agüero is probably the best player around to smash it into the roof from a cute angle. Uncanny how often he's pulled that finish off

Generally speaking even though he's reached the level he's gotten to he's almost a what could've been story. He got his first start in the Argentinian first league shortly after his 15th birthday and arrived as the next big thing at Atletico. If it weren't for the injuries he probably could've been a lot better

Ronaldo didn't even have 3 seasons of 9/10 in the PL though. Longevity, consistency and even peak level, Henry is definitely the greatest player in the PL era.

That's because attackers are more important than defenders. Henry is the greatest ever PL player don't think there's any real discussion here.

Yeah and out of those 3 Ronaldo only had one season that was on a similar level to Henry.

Terry isn't even the best centre back in PL history. I'd have both Sol and Rio over him without even thinking.

It's worth bearing in mind too that he played in the best defensively equipped/drilled team in PL history, I reckon there's over a dozen defenders who'd look great in that Chelsea side in his place without missing a beat.
