These aren’t Gauss’ theorem passes. We don’t need a David Beckham to make these sort of passes if the run is being made. Leicester City’s midfield is no great shakes in terms of quality and creativity. The players we’ve got presently can and should be able to make channel passes with zero problems.
Watch Leicester. Vardy doesn’t waste his time tracking back. When City is with the ball all he is doing is amending his positioning so he is ready to make that run behind the last defender. And once a Leicester midfielder gets it they roll it into his path immediately, and off he goes. It’s not complicated at all. KISS stuff.
