Really? Hadn't heard the United thing. Won't happen. Surely.
I'm happy with a lot of the team. Very happy that Szczesny and Jack have come in and improved us in two key positions. Djourou has made another good option, too, although I'm not exactly ecstatic with either him or Koscielny starting next season alongside Vermaelen. Would be much more comfortable hedging our bets and getting Gary Cahill in as well. We need a good player bought in to compete with Robin, and another bought in to compete with Walcott and Nasri. I want the persistent failures to go too, but Almunia, Eboue, Denilson going is more about pleasing me and most other fans, rather than it really being a game-changer going into next season.
Like I said above though, Clichy and Song are two players whose place in the team I am really not happy about. I think Gibbs is the man to oust Clichy, but if he's not up to it, and I mean really ready to push Clichy hard for his spot from the get-go next season, then someone has got to come in. Song is hurting this team badly. He has a lot of really good things in his game, but his constant lapses in concentration, none more damaging than his long standing problem when defending set-pieces, is hurting us far too often for him to continue unopposed in the starting XI. I'd like to see us spend some money on that position, or change how the team sets up so someone else already in the squad fits in better - Ramsey preferably.
