We have 5 CB's and they make me yearn for the days of Djourou and Senderos.
The first mistake was replacing Mertesacker by spending 30 million on Mustafi. It was such a massive downgrade, and we compounded that error by signing a short term option in Sokratis. If that wasn't enough, we went and spent 30 million on an 18 year old rookie and 7 million on yet another stop gap.
The two long terms options we banked on haven't lived up to promise. Chambers hasn't become the players we hoped. Holding isn't really that good, either.
So in short, our big money CB has been an utter flop. Our two long term youth signings haven't come good and our two stop gap signings have been shit from day one.
Come next season we will have a kid with a big price tag who will be thrown into the deep end and be expected to swim.
