Is the squad still "largely full" of Wenger players?
There are certainly less Wenger players than there were last year and we're still worse.
Quick estimate appears to show over 50% of Wengplayers gone and the starting 11 is generally predominantly made up of Emery era purchases.
Outside of Özil which players from Wengerdays are "overpaid" ? (overpaid as baselined against what? Average PL player salary for a mid table club?)
There is no Wenger hangover in terms of remnants of his influence, in the form of left over players, causing our current malaise on the pitch.
The problem rests squarely on the shoulders of Emery & Co.
For over a year they have made all of the decisions on what we lack, what we need and what we could live with.
The issue is Emery keeps changing his mind about same.
The starting XI is never a constant, repeatedly chopped and changed for all sorts of reasons, new players trying to get to grips in a team full of slightly less new players who have yet to gel.
Nail down a starting XI for the next PL game and stick with the same XI for every PL game until we get some kind of consistency going.
