Yeah, but they were worried he would leave because he had so little left on his contract and despite efforts to extend it nothing had been signed. I think that's a legitimate worry, and I imagine it also came down to Saka's personality. A less mature and rooted player would probably have found Liverpool or City more attractive, and it's not outlandish to think he'd start games for them now if he had gone to either club. Another factor could have been that Emery left and he felt more positive about the direction of the club. Loads of things changed in the span of 9 months while he was breaking through.

I think it was just the agent (same guy who reps Balogun). Has a reputation for running down deals and putting on the squeeze.

Its of course plausible as a huge worry that he could have left, it’s the ‘why would he want to stay’ angle that I dispute. In reality there were lots of reasons for him to stay, which is why he did in the end.

He also ran down the Saka deal. But he at least extended Nelson with just under a year left to run on his deal. He’s got us by our privates

Am I the only one worrying that what he did could be a crime? I don't know how the video got off his phone, but if he published it without the consent of the other player, like in a group chat for instance and then it leaked from there, then it's definitely illegal and he could face pretty serious consequences.

The video is more than 3 years old. It's been leaked before and someone intentionally leaked it again now apparently now that he's more famous

just the process of recording that video was very stupid, even for a 17 or 18 year old.

Made a video where he filmed a teammate sitting behind him in a sofa and having a wank. There were other teammates in the room too. Apparently that's a thing you do in a crowded room.

Like Clrnc says the video is three years old though, which possibly makes it worse since they're all most likely minors.

Saliba definitely has my upmost sympathies given his personal loss. I hope the lad has strong mentors and a support system or he risks being influenced by negatives aspects of his environment.

We're not exactly talking about him leaking an intimate moment in the privacy of a hotel room. If that kid thought it would stay private then he's even more of an idiot than he appears at face value.
