I think the biggest factor other than starting regularly now is that he is playing in a strike partnership. He is a good 2nd striker, not a lone one.

He has definitely been the signing of the season in France.

36 year old journeyman brought on a free transfer and very likely will lead Lille to a league title.

I can't believe a striker as good as him didn't play for bigger clubs. His goal scoring records are pretty impressive. One of the most complete strikers out there.

Seems generous to associate him with those 2 PSG titles (played only 3 times with them). Won both Serie A and Bundesliga in the same year!

Tbh I never rated Gazza so highly, it's just that he's an entertaining player to watch and that's always a good thing.

One of my earliest Arsenal memories was the FA cup semi-final. Remember watching with my mum. Everything was about Gazza. He would’ve had Grealish or Kane hype in this current era. Smacked a free kick from the other side of the world. I knew only one other player who was hitting the ball like that at the time - a South African called Bashin Mahlangu. He seemed to be more hyped than Linekar who was in the same game

Yeah, surprising. I'd be happy with him here as well.
