No talk of Spurs in the League Cup final. Jose looking to make them relevant with a trophy.

Raya had some good saves, particularly one from a deflected header from Moura. Thought he could’ve made himself bigger on the Son goal. Just didn’t seem aggressive and imposing on the way that Oblak and Allison who are giants can do. He looks like he has good reactions and is good with his feet but size could be an issue...

I fell off my chair when that happened. Like WTF.

Saliba’ own team has defensive issues galore. Should be a fun half year for him. He has some rust. Had a bad tackle and a couple of bad passes in succession late on. But in general he passed well, looked good on the ball and breaks extremely quickly with it.

Pedri is very very good. Might even be a reason for Messi to stay in Barcelona beyond this summer if Spanish journos are to be believed.

And to think of, he only cost 5 million when teenagers in his position are costing 20 million plus atleast.

He's really good,but it shouldn't convince him to stay. They're broke and have an aging squad with quite a few promising youngsters so their next great squad is a few years away. Messi won't be part of it.

Uneventful first half for our Saliba. He does look so lovely on the ball whenever he gets it. Has potential to be our Upamecano. He gets the ball and is equally good passing and driving. On the ball, only Luiz and Gabriel are probably better for now. He hasn’t been tested defensively today.

I will say though based on these 2 games, Uber Ears League slots somewhere between Premier League and Championship

It’s not a top quality league is all. It’s not along with Bundesliga, La Liga etc. the standard is bad.

To be fair I think Ligue 1 slots somewhere below Europa and Carabao cup. So probably behind all the Irish leagues etc that we played opponents against.

It's not worse than the irish league, but both Ligue 1 and Bundesliga are a bit of a joke compared to the big ones. There are only three big leagues in Europe, and then there's a vast gulf down to these two blueberries.

Just taking the piss a bit as Saliba wasn't deemed even good enough to sit on the bench against those amateur clubs but starts immediately every match without much training in Ligue 1 just few days after joining.

Watching the Leeds game and Poveda did a disgusting flip flap through the legs of a Crawley player. His pass following should have lead to a shot but the next player laid it off.
