Serioulsy, why isn't someone like Lewis Dunk even in the squad after the last few years he's had? He has developed so much. He's a much better defender than Maguire currently, bit lacking in experience on international level maybe, but how is that going to change if he doesn't get a look in in games like this?

Debut was absolutely fine. Didn’t pull up trees but did what was required in the role. Tracked back well. Supported attacks quickly. Grealish tended to right rather than use him which was a waste.

Like Mentalvortex said and Jones I believe mentioned earlier, Southgate is basically picking the most well-known names. He's an incredibly uninspired choice for a football manager, it's kind of like the midtable clubs a few years back when the same British managers just kept being fired and replacing each other in rotation. I never really like to buy into the England yournament hype since it happens every time, but this is a really good group of players and could go far if coached by someone else. Although Kane has been very good this season imagine earlier if there was a manager who realized that Vardy was the better player for example.

I would say that the blame was equally on the Swiss goalie, Sommer.

He should have booted the ball clear instead of passing it to Xhaka inside in his own box with three Spaniards pressing him.

No matter what people's opinion on him is, Neymar is one of the most fun footballer to watch when on song.

I would say he is the closest to Ronaldinho when it comes to entertainment vale and skill.

It was 100% on the goalkeeper having seen it - the pass was nowhere near Xhaka.

Southgate again reverts to type for the nations league game against Belgium.

Grealish dropped to the bench, Maguire back in the starting lineup and playing Trippier out of position at left back. Pickford back as number 1 goalie too.

Maybe I'm biased against him, but has Dier ever been good at anything? I get most Spurs players and why they're in the England side, but I'll never understand why guys like him keep getting picked. Everything about him is so fucking mediocre. Without even dipping into the Premier League talent pool you could go out and find ten better English midfielders every given week in the Championship, and that's before you even begin to count how many centrebacks that are better than him.

Hilarious England have Mings, Coady who are perfect in a 3 but plays Walker out of position and then still starts Dier.

Grealish and Sancho on the bench is a joke too when you consider they like to start Mount.
