Fernandinho in his pomp was a one man midfield.

Tim Vickery seems to rate the kid extremely highly (he mentions that Danilo was only player in the recent Copa Libertadores final aged under 23, and at 20 years old has now won it twice). Vickery also says the only reason Danilo's not an Arsenal player right now is because Palmeiras had this tournament coming up (and presumably didn't want to sell their best player just before it begun):

Hope he is right. Signing him will make me so happy. He has more potential than Guimares for instance and would explain why we decided to risk not signing any CM.

He is such a good screen I think we can afford to play him as a single pivot like Fernandinho or Gilberto-esque, he will sweep up everything.

After a bit of youtubing, I think he's looks a great fit for the left-sided '8' role that Xhaka now plays. He seems to have a really good mix of technical quality, athleticism and defensive nous.

I saw the news but was actually half hoping to avoid seeing the goals themselves.

Perfect hat trick own goals. Imagine the odds. That’s a high potential for misfortune that lady right there has. I wouldn’t be surprised if her dog was struck by lightning later that evening or something.
