We're not getting Zaha, so Everton is probably the best we can do atm.

Yup.
Zaha has power allied to his tricks and would, imo, have helped us more straight away.
Hopefully VAR helps Everton so he is not kicked out of games like manu did to Reyes.

If rumored transfer prices are taken at face value (absurd for Zaha) then the options seem to be:

Zaha (£80m) and no other signings major signings
or
Everton (£25-30m), Saliba (£25-30m) and Tierney (£25-30m)

I'll take the trio every day

Youd have to be mad to prefer Zaha in that scenario.

Everton is just 23 too, can still improve but looks ready to add to the team right away

Still can't believe Arsenal will sign someone like him. He has a facial tattoo ffs, well and truly the end of the Wenger era

Zaha is proven in the league. Soares more of a gamble. I think 8/10 would prefer Zaha.

Soaries looks like a maverick.

Unless we sign both (just imagine)!!!

8/10 would prefer Zaha in that scenario?

Saliba and Tierney >> Saliba >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Saliba, Tierney and Everton >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Zaha

Not specifically that scenario.

Just feel that if people voted between the two (if everything was equal) and had an outright choice between Zaha and Soares, ppl would choose the former.

DKF prefers only signing an 18 year old CB that we loan back in the first year.

But that's barely the context.

I'd rather Neymar than Zaha, but that's not realistic. Nor is it realistic to only sign Zaha this summer as we have plenty of other positions of need.

I thought Kel's post had Zaha out of the equation.

Anyways, it should be recognised that the £80 figure is not Zaha's market valuation.
It's just Palace telling us to fuck off.
It's the equivalent of CRonaldo's €1 billion buy out clause at RM.
When they decided to sell, in 2018, it was reduced to €120 million.

Hm looks like it's either zaha or everton

Imagine both either side of bama tho

Only watched half of the first video but it's enough to get me proper excited. The guy is tricky, tenacious and very direct. They say he keeps nutmegging guys alone will be enough for many lols. Not on board for Says for 80m but for 30-35m I'd get fully behind this signing.

Oh la la! We'd be great fun to watch for the first time in years.

Iwobi, Nelson and Saka would make up a great set of options, too. All pacey and ball carriers to varying degrees. We'd never have to watch Özil, Mkhitaryan or Kolasinac play/play wide again!

Would love to get rid of him and get Everton in in his place

Speaking of the balding Armenian, he looked as pitiful as ever this morning.

There were mitigating circumstances as he was played completely out of position on the left.
He also wasn't the only one lacking match fitness as Lacazette was also poor.
I feel sorry for him as he, seemingly, gets no love and this could be affecting his performances.

The both play down the left don't they so it would have to be one or the other?

I'd happily take Malcom on a loan deal with an option to buy.
That way if the youngsters come on as hoped then we can sell both Everton and Malcom for top dollar approaching their prime whilst we have in-house replacements ready to go.

Other point being that if we did have 2 valid direct attacking players on the flanks we could change our style of play and never need to rely upon overlapping FBs, and we could play a more attacking role from CM.

Grêmio manager says that Everton will most likely leave this summer

He said this before the Copa America, but still.

Simon Jones of the Mail: Arsenal bid to get Dani Ceballos loan signing from Real Madrid over the line while they also step up interest in £32m Brazil winger Everton Soares.

A lot of journalists in brazil(some very reliable)are reporting this, but in the UK only the mail and Sky, goal have picked it up.

Have seen a couple of sites today talking as if this is already a done deal with a price of 25m agreed with add-ons taking it up to a potential 35/36m.
One site was even talking about our 3 new Brazilians (Martinelli, Edu & Everton).

Until it’s on arsenal.com it didn’t happen.

Would be happy if that's true. Am still holding out hope for a Zaha deal to materialise.

Are you saying that since we've heard rumours about this transfer it'd be weird if it didn't happen?

No english sources have much on this. They're all on thr tierney/ceballos deals

I've noticed that too. I think it might be as simple as the South American rumour mill connecting Arsenal with hyped up Brazilians through Edu at the moment.

I don't see the value with this guy. How is he anything more spectacular than say Bernard? He doesn't seem like he has exceptional traits or skills to be able to destabilize defenses and create opening any more than Denis Suarez or say more than the players we already have in Iwobi and Nelson. He even seems even a little bit cumbersome in organizing his feet. If we cut corners I would utilize Nelson/Iwobi/Myhki and Fraser supporting the wide areas.

The most logical endpoint for this guy is probably China unless the reports of our stupidity are not exaggerated. European teams have largely seemed to wise up the "random player who had 3 good games at an international tournament"-type signings nowadays.

Wasn’t he like top goal scorer in the Brazilian league last season as well?

Talking about China. Ever since Rafa went to Dalian the Carrasco rumours died completely. Probably didn't allow him to leave anymore

No. He scored 10 goals last season. He did make the Brasileiro team of the year, but that's it.

Not at all - just thought it weird to have advanced the BS to the point of claiming a medical and staff arriving, but maybe that's just how they do it .

More brazilian outlets reporting that he's left gremios training camp and we are negotiating a fee. Will be interesting if this goes through without english sources reporting much on it. Bit of a paradigm shift with edu at the helm
