Have a feeling Ornstein is wrong on this one
Nicolas Pépé
Pep, where are there eggplant emojis?

Pepe 2019
Hope we sign Pepe.
See that he’s still heavily linked with Bayern and Liverpool.
is he really that good? ive watched a few compilations, he looks okay, but 80M? i mean i know every decent player (except arsenal players) goes for 50M these days, but still, looks fairly underwhelming

Yeah, his age and statistical profile is undeniable but whenever you actually see him play, you can't help but feel that he's kind of a bit shit actually. Very reminiscent of Leon Bailey this time last year.
I have to agree. I don’t think he’d maintain anywhere near those numbers here either. But who knows.
He has an awkward style that can deceive you if you haven't seen lots of him. I thought the same when I watched just a few short compilations. He's a seriously good player. Potentially terrifyingly good.
Smokescreen for the guy we really want - ol' Wilf Zaha.
If you have the money for Wilf, you should always go this guy. Hopefully, our bankers tell Raul that.
Of course go for this guy but he already has cl football at his current club plus cl teams interested in him unlike wilf.
I think there's a reason top clubs are baulking at the fee. He's had 1 good season in ligue at 24 years of age. Bayern are heavily in the market for a winger, and despite pepe being constantly linked with them they haven't made a move.
Can't believe there is anything in this really the figures are crazy and don't seem credible for us.
Don't believe this rumour at all.
I would obviously like us to sign Pepe and think he has way more upside, but I just really want Zaha. Always have.

Thats the feeling I'am getting. Hollow use of our club in name to drum interest, but I hope I'm being irrational.
Lille really torpedoed the bids credibility when they invoked arsenals name.
Does him being linked with Arsenal and Napoli in recent days suggest that the big clubs aren't interested or that Lille are just trying to scare bigger clubs into action?
Lille want their money. They need to make space for the next crop of talented kids to be groomed and auctioned off.
He's the only player I'd be happy to see us spend our entire budget on. Sadly our entire budget isn't enough to get him.

Lille are desperate to sell because his value is unlikely to go higher, I'd guess
That's my feeling too. He'll be available for half of the suggested £80 million next summer, but no one who really needs him has the time to wait. Similar to Zaha in that sense maybe.
Remember Thomas Lemar?
The new Thomas Lemar
Pepe is better than Lamar. Remember that the Monaco team had a really good coach and lots of incredible players. Lemar had Mendy and Silva playing off him, helping make him look good.
If you see Lille, Pepe is the pulse of that team. Attacks go through him. He's taking players on and then laying it off for others, or getting on the end of things. And he's still developing.

Yeah he wasn't half as good as Pepe has been though.

And Fekir.
I think Pepé is better than both of them to be fair, but I also think he's going to need a bit of time before he produces for us. And time is not the first thing you want to give a player who costs £80 million.
I agree with the general consensus that his season next year won't be as good as this one. Next summer would be one to nab him. It's similar to when Mahrez had a dip after the title winning season and was available for a fair price. No one acted and his value rose again. I think we will see something similar with Pepe in terms of a progression curve.
If nobody gets him now, we should make a proper bid in December. He could save our dumpster fire of a season Arshavin-style.
The Le 10 Sport journalist who claims it's Arsenal vs Napoli for Pépé, also claims we have Jorge Mendes working on the deal. Which would be quite the turn up for the books and show Sanllehi is changing things at Arsenal in a big way.

That translates to "now you know everything".
Wow
If we really do have the ability to pull off a €80m deal, then i would rather it went on Diop.
Does this also mean that we are out on Zaha/Everton? Really interesting times
Mendes is the last thing on earth I want at my club

United involved?
A lot of speculation, lets see what happens

The ugly reality is you can sign all the Mustafis or Xhakas you want without Mendes or Raiola, but if you want to sign the best players in the world or the youngsters that are destined for that level, you've got to play the game and deal with those two.
No chance Pepe ends up here. I reckon Bayern once they accept they are not getting Sane.

That is a guy who we should be targeting
The day he is fed up, we should pounce. How much would city realistically want for him?

£80m.
I hate hearing that United are after Pepe. They are just wasting people’s time.

You say that like Mendes and Raiola are the same thing.
Stacks with comments that we are going for expensive players

That's a fair point. It doesn't change the fact that there are a handful of "super-agents" that either own or broker pretty much every deal that's made for the best players or talent. Even if Jorge Mendes is the biggest player and the most powerful.
