If goals were all that mattered, then we would play Nketiah all season long and he would easily outscore Jesus and would probably score 20 goals in a 50 game season. But we obviously need more than goals to play in the position, otherwise there would be far more clamour for Nketiah to start, but nobody does because everyone inherently recognises that goals are not the be all and end all for the position.
It's also disingenuous to completely disregard his goals in the CL, like as if the competition doesn't matter or that we don't need players to deliver in the competition. It's one thing to do it to a rival player, but to your own?
These are some of the strikers that have outscored Eddie and Jesus that aren't already playing for a traditional top 6.
Solanke, Watkins, Hee-Chan, Adebayo, Wood, Pedro, Mbuemo, Ferguson, Edouard, Awoniyi, Jimenez.
Which ones of these guys do you think we should be spending our money on? I'm genuinely curious, because my mind stops when thinking of strikers that would improve our squad after Osimhen and maybe Lautaro, and even he was the butt of all jokes just last WC.
