banduan , he shoots right at the keeper so often
How often is he through on goal with the keeper to beat and he shoots it at the keeper? Usually its him getting the ball out wide or near the corner of the box and taking what I'd consider a decent shot on his weaker foot from a narrow angle whilst thr likes of Jesus and Kai are yet to enter the box.
I honestly don't see too much wrong with his decision making. Yes he can make improvements that come naturally with experience, but it's not something that gives me concern. He's instructed to keep the width and keep running at his man out wide over and over again. It's natural that when he gets there his only options are usually to either pass back, swing a cross in with his weaker foot, or to turn back inside and send an inswinging cross. We usually don't have many people in the box anyways.
I don't see him often trying a stupid shot when he had better options or crossing the ball when he shouldn't have. The direction of his crosses is sometimes off, either by being over or underhit but not everyone is a Trossard or Cazorla levels of both footed.
Aside from that we don't play on the break much to give the guys regular one on one chances and we play a lot less intricate football in the areas in front of the box to release our forwards with cute balls inside. We did that last year, not nearly enough this.
Put it this way, if you keep feeding chances to Martinelli, he will score a shitload of goals. He got 15 in the PL last season despite missing the tail end. He was one of our youngest players to score 10 goals for us in a single season since probably Anelka, and he's still barely in his 20s.
