I wish we had signed a then 24 year old Dutch centre half from Celtic when we were linked in 2015, even if it had to be a saga. We would probably be more meaningful now.

Neil Lennon(Celtic manager) asked if Arsenal have made a 2nd bid: “Not that I’m aware of. Arsenal are aware of what we value the player at. He’s on a long-term contract, he’s an asset and we don’t want to sell him."
Celtic boss Neil Lennon: “It’s going to have to take a lot more than what Arsenal have offered the first time around to give us a decision to make."

Arsenal are expected to make an improved £19m offer for Kieran Tierney tomorrow. [Daily Record]

Get him and Saliba done before we go on tour in the US and I would be happy.

Arsenal’s new Kieran Tierney bid rejected by Celtic as £7.5m add-ons don’t add up

New offer for Kieran Tierney is a £17.5m with £7.5m add-ons based on his performances, appearances, club’s record in domestic and European competitions. Celtic rejected the bid as they view add-ons unrealistic and too optimistic.
Football Scotland understands Tierney is open to staying at the club for an additional season. #AFC sources confirm he is a priority and the club will continue their pursuit. Celtic will reluctantly sell once his £25m valuation is met.

Reckon we'll come back next week with a bid of £17.6m plus £7.4m add-ons.

Sounds like lies. Hopefully it's a sign this is close to being finalised.

I heard Kieran Tierney left Celtic camp to go on a trip hiking through the Swiss Alps with Dominik Szoboszlai. Wonder what that means?

It depends. Was Zaha spotted with them?

They tried to make him go to rehab baby

He said “nooo, nooo, noo”

To be honest, that's a really good sign that this is close now. Expecting things to be finalized this week.

Not looking likely from what I’ve heard. Apparently we’re only wanting to pay £10m upfront and Celtic aren’t happy with that. Marseille are interested too

Celtic fans starting to resign themselves.

Kieran Tierney in the new kit with number 3 on his back tomorrow morning would go along way to helping ease tensions between fans and the club.

I think he’ll leave. He wants too. I’m just not sure it’ll be to us.

And we’re certainly nowhere near to making it happen.

Which clubs are in for him that are as big as Arsenal? Napoli were mentiomlned but that was probably bullshit from the get-go as not a thing has materialised. And Napoli are not Arsenal.

Marseille is a non-starter. They're desperately trying to comply with FFP and there have been stories everywhere of a firesale. They aren't in any position to be bidding £20m+. And they're Marseille: They're not signing Kieran Tierney. No chance.

Also, it's hard to come up with a good explanation as to why Tierney has flown back to the UK. If it is to "contunue his rehab," as Neil Lennon says, then why was be there in the first place? Screams bullshit, and even the crazy Celtic fans that think 10 titles wins in a row is a reason for and not against a top player staying in Scotland(!), know it's likely he's back because an agreement must be close.

If Tierney is the player we want/need then we have no excuses to frakk this up over fees.

If he has a choice I’ve no doubt he comes to us. That’s what I’ve been told he wants. Doesn’t change the fact we still have to agree a deal with Celtic and that’s still some way off. Him leaving their training camp is completely unrelated to completing a deal with us.

Unless you're saying you know something I don't, then Tierney leaving the squad to come back to the UK remains highly suspicious.

It's not in the interest of the three parties involved to drag this out. Celtic have a hugely important CL qualifier in a just over a week's time; Arsenal are back in pre-season in a few days and are off to America the week after that, and Tierney will be desperate to get this all sorted so he can focus on starting well at Arsenal.

I can't see anything else other than this being very close to done. We'll see how it plays out I guess.

Will he miss pre season through injury?

He will be fine.

He had a hernia operation at the end of May and Tierney himself said he had been told that full recovery would take 3-6 weeks.

Oh ok, cheers. Should be good to go once we sign him.

Maybe behind the scenes there’s more going on at our end, but as I said were still miles off Celtic’s valuation. He’s home because he’s not fit to train wth the group.

Celtic have been out there for 5 days, why would you stick someone that has recently had surgery and is not fit to train, on a plane and then fly him back a few days later? It makes no sense, and on top of that, there was no mention of Tierney not being out there for the full trip beforehand either. Why not just do the rehab in Austria if he's really so unfit he can't join in with pre-season training?

If he was staying, or it was even a possibility, I'm sure Celtic would be doing everything possible to get him ready for their CL qualifier on the 9th July. That game is massive for them, Tierney would be chomping at the bit to get back for it.

None of it adds up. On the other hand, it all makes perfect sense if a deal is very close to being done.

I think they’re holding out for £25m. I’d imagine there’d be scope for structuring it but I reckon they’d want near £20m before they start taking our offer serious.

No thank you. I don’t want to get rid of him only to risk running into him in Glasgow!

£20m + £5m add-ons is the latest reported offer, so it wouldn't seem like we're miles off in that case.

It’s a decent singing but we are hardly signing neymar.

We need a lot more than some 19 year old LB to get our hopes high again.

P.S: Robbie via Twitter has just announced it’s a done deal.

22 years old, and with a lot of experience. But, I agree, to get the fans back onside, more needs to happen.

This will be a good start. At least I have someone from my wishlist that we signed

Met a Celtic and United fan I know yesterday, he's absolutely gutted that Tierney might end up at Arsenal.

I'm a lot fucking happier about this than I would be if Shaw was our LB.

Was Champagne Charlie our last Scot?

Last of any decent standard yes.

The thought of Tierney and Hector at full back for us already gives our back 4 a much more serious look to the backline that finished last season.
