Isn't it worrying that he's literally begging us to come and get Tierney? Makes you wonder how chronic the supposed injury is and whether they're trying to sell us a busted player.
Kieran Tierney
Nah, £25m would be comfortably Celtic's record transfer fee, and no matter how good a player is, fullbacks don't make or break your team. Particularly if you've lined up a replace. They want the cash.
Yeah, Celtic don't have the millions clubs do in the PL. It's why Lille and St Ettiene also pretty much gift wrapped their guys, they were delighted to be getting big money for one of their players.
Others have disagreed, but there's just no explanantion other than they really want the money.
My guess is Lennon's been walking a fine line all summer of begging for the money and trying to keep Celtic fans onside for when they eventually sell.
I think they fancy they can do a lot with an additional £25m and want to rebuild their team to try and pull away from a resurgent Rangers and start getting into the Champions League regularly again.
Such a strange saga.
This was seemingly nailed on to happen over a month ago, but has been dragged out until deadline day. We've been linked with no other left-backs, so Tierney has always been our guy. Plus, the strange concerns over his fitness. I really hope it's all much ado about nothing, because a quality full-back could be huge for us at both ends of the pitch.
Think it was deliberately drawn out to manage emotions
I think Ricky's had some spot on analysis around this saga. Seems the delay was down slightly to us low-balling and partly by Celtic so they could pretend they resisted selling a talented crowd favorite.
As long as his injuries issues subside this looks like a good deal for all involved.
I really like the look of his play, should push for Kola's spot and give us flexibility next year to shift Kola's wages to a premier CB.
For us to be able to make any kind of judgment of this transfer we need to see whether he's able to sustain fitness for months without this particular injury flaring up again
We've got options at LB so at least we don't need to rush him in. Can be eased in and let him heal up properly.
this seemed like a done deal ages ago. i was always reasonably confident it would get done
we must've done our due diligence on his injury, one would hope
Of course we have thought about his injury … even we're not that shit.
So we're shifting monreal to cb now? Great.
Pretty chuffed with this. Good signing and if all goes to plan, our LB for the next 8 to 10 years.
looking back, signing tierney alone seemed like a stretch at the start of the window. things have come a long way

Yeah looks to be pretty much done, they were desperately calling for us to buy him and we were taking our own sweet time weighing options but personal terms was agreed way before that so never an issue.
Really happy to get him, our back 4 will be so much better with him there
Happy for Ricky this one looks like being done!
It's alright int it! Another good athlete in the team too. I know how you love your pace and power.
Let's just hope he passes the medical!
I’m more drawn to his intelligence. Doesn’t just swing balls forward without purpose
Interesting to see who will play in front of him
