I don't think much of Kola but we have too much other work to do on the squad this summer. He'll have to do as back up until next summer. Monreal isn't even up to the job of back up any more. He's been declining for years and at this point he's a much bigger liability than Kola.

agree with this. monreal is shot physically, barely anything left in his legs. at least kola offers something going forward.

We're mega shit at getting the ball out down the right opposition teams overload kola knowing well try play out that side. If bellers comes back and has pepe in front of him, kola will look better as team wont be able to pin us back all on that left side.

Reporter for The Scotsman and Edinburgh News, @BarryAnderson_ [Reliable] tells me he thinks Arsenal’s 3rd prospective bid for Celtic’s Kieran Tierney will be accepted before the deadline. #AFC ready to meet Scottish club’s demands of deal worth £25m. (£20m upfront + £5m in add-ons)'

Come on Raul, do it.

Get in. This might just be our most important signing. He's absolute quality and has everything you want in a modern fullback. Bonus that he can play RB as he showed for Scotland so could even fill in while Bellerin is injured if AMN doesn't convince.

okay, here is today's big question. you only get to pick one of the following options:

A. we sign tierney, but mustafi stays and is a regular starter and plays 40 games this coming season

or

B. the tierney deal falls through, we sell mustafi, and we sign a good experienced CB

What about:

C. We sign Tierney, Mustafi stays, and we sign a young-ish CB on loan.

Or any half decent CB on loan. That'd do fine.

CB. Mustafi out at all costs.

ultimately, i think this is my choice too. as much as i think we need a LB, i think we can survive with kola for one season. i dont think we can survive with clownstafi starting at CB

I think Tierney looks a legit player, and one that will be good for 2-5 years minimum. So, I'll take a year of Mustafi if it means we're better in the long run. We're not ready to compete this year, but I don't think Mustafi will be enough to ruin our CL push.

100% B.
Mustafi stays and is a regular starter and plays 40 games is straight suicide!

A for me. Although the dice are loaded on that particular quandary.

Got to be option B all the way.

Then Raul revives the Tierney deal 😆

Do we think KT will be better than prime Nacho?

Maybe not straight away but eventually yeah. Nacho was always a weird full back, didn't overlap that well, was at his best when he could come into the middle and pass it round with Cazorla.

Which is why I think we could get away with him as an inverted WB in a supporting role rather than as an attacking FB/WB looking to overlap.  Then take the breaks off the attack.

This, and IMO it also keeps in step with out strategy this summer in the market = this season is still all about regaining CL rather than trying to challenge.
