Oh, Kanu. I’ll never forgot how he was the boss in that 4-3 semi-final game against a strong Brazil team in the 96 Olympics. That Nigeria team was special and he was the star. Win over Argentina in the final was memorable as well. The Nigerian seniors had missed AFCON in January, so was extra special.
And that Italy game. My dad was cheering on the Azzuri. Me the Super Eagles. He had a good laugh that night. Nigeria was supposed to build on that generation.
