To be fair though, that whole Villa setup was in shambles when they got relegated and not the best place for a youngster to develop.

Either way, I have watched zilch of Fiorentina the last few years, but I'd take Praet over this bloke any day. I just wish he wouldn't come with Anderson attached.

You could be in luck. Spurs are allegedly sniffing at Andersen. Maybe the value-maximizing play for everyone is to break up the deal.

Then we can look north to someone like Konaté or N’dicka. Or better, Dortmund have the exact opposite problem to us in defense: too young. They have 3 incredible young defenders in Diallo, Akanji, Zagadou. They conceded a dozen goals more than Leipzig and Bayern. They might be in that Arsenal 08 midfield zone where having some veterans could help stabilize defense in the short term and accelerate the growth of these defenders in the long run. Maybe it’s worth giving up one of these defenders to achieve this. France u20 Captain Zagadou kept N’Dicka at left back in the World Cup. He also played half as many minutes as the other two. Worth a shot?

I personally do not like Akanji.

Far too hands on, in the Premier league where players in general are stronger and faster, and at Arsenal in particular, he will get more cards than Gabriel did.

Not seen much of Zagadou.

Hopefully our scouts are scouring France at the moment. Issa Diop would have been great.
