Josip Illicic had absolutely incredible skills when he was at Palermo but inconsistent.

But he has added effectiveness to his game at Atalanta and is probably one of the best attacking mids in europe right now

Yep, he's been a top class player for several years now. Such badass perception to go with that skillset too, always reacts quicker than anyone else. The freekick he scored yesterday was literally from the halfway line for instance:

Reminds me of couple years ago when Mertens out of nowhere started scoring goals like these. 21 league games now 25 goals 6 assists, he really might win the Golden Boot and smash Higuains record at Napoli

Difference being that Mertens didn't just start scoring goals like those, he didn't really score much at all before. Immobile has always been pretty reliable as long as he's playing with another striker, but yeah I haven't seen much stuff like that from him before.

That was a terrible goal. The ball defelected and looped up off the keeper and over the defender on the line.

Mertens was actually a pretty consistent scorer from the wing. He went up a full level when he played centrally and started scoring goals like these which Ciros goal reminded me of (although much better here)

Immobile as you say was a very good goal scorer but is posting Messi/Cristiano figures now. Whens the last time anyone did that in February bar those two and Lewandowski maybe?

Didn't see the deflection, takes away from the goal if there was one

Have to say the trajectory of the shot looked like it took a big deflection to me as well but only seen it from that one angle.

Think it's a pretty ridiculous goal regardless of whether there's a reflection or not. He beats both a defender and the goalkeeper a couple of times and when no one makes a run he decides to whip it in himself. Boss level.

Huge favor done to Inter by Verona tonight who came back from a goal down to beat Juventus 2-1.

Inter will go atop of the table if they can beat Milan in the derby tomorrow.

Rumor that Juve might look to cash in on Ramsey. Wouldn’t be surprised given how he’d been used and even potential need to raise funds for the Pogba back and forth.

He's negligible for them and for a tactically disciplined team like Juve it's hard to accommodate him and his loose positioning + awful touch. On many occasions his selfish nature in front of goal caused conflicts between him and his teammates according to Juve fans.

He came on last night and immediately Juve lost their shape, conceded twice and lost the game in the last 20 mins.

It’s also a lesson to Arsenal fans. Some of the players we worshipped during the Gazidis era aren’t really upper echelon.
