It's worth considering that players are only as expensive as the fee they actually get sold for. Maybe Pepe is theoretically worth £70 million, but that's a huge chunk out of Bayern's funds too. I don't see them paying that much for him, and I don't really see anyone else do it either. I might be wrong, I didn't think City would pay the kind of money they did for Mahrez last summer, but they are an outlier in this context. More often than not good footballers still leave for affordable fees unless someone is absolutely hellbent on signing them at any cost, like Liverpool with van Dijk and Alisson.

That's true, given that they already spent so much on Lucas, Pavard and still wants Havertz, Hudson-Odoi, De Ligt, Jovic, Werner etc. They can't have it all.

Would have loved Fraser yesterday vs Watford. Could have shown Iwobi/Mhiki a thing or two.....

Am I alone in thinking Iwobi was very good yesterday?

I think he was probably our best player after Leno.

He was good, but also demonstrated his limitations in not once challenging theirnkeeper. However, had Auba or Mhiki put away the chances he’s created it would be all good.

He did force Foster into one good save, albeit with deflected shot.

I felt his final ball was spot on throughout and he had Firminia on toast every time he went at him. Thought he held the touchline and gave us width consistently (which he fails to do too often).

No. I watched the game again. He was, as usual on an away ground, our most useful outlet.
I think he frustrates because he doesn't end up getting many clean shots. Gets stuck in zones 13 and 16 a lot facing up to his man without real penetration. That is often a result of poor overlapping. He is much more effective when he has Kolasinac getting past him.
Did have some good feds into the box though, some just in front of their man or wasted. Best of our AMs

And Bayern are now offering $$$ to try to sign Conte and they want Ziyech!

Is Coman worth targeting after his fight w/ Lewandowski? I know he was close to retiring after his numerous foot injuries. Bayern need $$$ to fund their crazy pursuits 😆

Just get Fraser. He'd be a perfect fit. People are talking about goal and assists in the Iwobi thread, Fraser has 20 combined.

He has 13 assists = level top in the PL with Hazard, and also level top across UEFA top5 with Messi, Sancho and Sarabia.

One year left on his deal.

Get the lad in ASAP.

I'd classify him as primarily being another creative player, and whilst that's not a bad thing of it's self it doesn't improve our depth in terms of goals. As such if we're looking at Fraser we're looking at a 4231, and it means we need to offset him with signing another goal scorer to play opposite, unless we want to go back to playing either PEA or Lacazette as WF.

Which are the other creative players we have? Struggling to think of three names in the squad.

Struggling to think of one as good as Fraser. When I watch us break and then mess up the final pass its hard to not think Fraser would solve some of that. We do need more fire power in AM/wing line but we need creativity too. And Fraser has scored more than Ozil, Mhki or Iwobi anyway.

Seems like the kind of wing player that Auba would love

Didn't realise his contract had 1 year left. Feels like a no brainer after watching our wingers faff around all season. Seems like he's just hitting his peak as well
