If you'd have made this post last season we'd have thought you were talking about Arteta's Arsenal.
Difference is Arteta had already stated his philosophy and it was clear that something wasn’t right - either his application of his principles or the players. Both changed.
Conte had the chance to go and get creative midfielders this summer. He didn’t. He got Bissouma - who Conte is now complaining doesn’t work hard enough. That’s why he’s not playing 😆 it’s what he does. Destructive ball
I'm good with things this year mate. Like you said in your next post, chance creation is up, we are playing in the front foot more, I'd rather some get countered hard like United did because we are playing attacking football than play that overly cautious nonsense we saw last few years.
You said something changed, that's true. But I guess we've had our first setback this season following United. Lets see if we keep trying to play football the way we have early on in the season or if we revert to type.
Arteta has it all to prove this season on what style of play he can get the players playing over most if the season. I won't criticise him for being pragmatic in the odd imoortant game where we'd rather not not lose at any cost, but overall, for the other 90% of the season we should be trying to play how we have been.
If he can do that, and get up in the CL he'll have done well and converted a lot of people into Artetasexuals.
