we should be ready to move on whatever quality players are shaken loose

Like who? Denis Suarez? I don't see a lot of Alexis Sanchez types being shaken loose this summer.

Agreed the quality of madrid/barca expendables won't be the likes of Ozil, Di Maria, Higuain etc.

That said the likes of Malcolm, Coutinho, Umititi, Gomes, Mariano, James could be available

Isco too.

I think I'd actually prefer James to Isco, could see James working well in our team.

James has a Mesut smell to me. Both quality, but I can see us in tears again.

Yeah, I am not too keen on James either.

He blows too hot and cold for my liking and even at Bayern never really stamped his authority.

Yeah after his Bayern stint I don't really want him anymore.

Is Isco any possible? Seems to have tailed off at Madrid again. Madrid have plenty of fringe players that will be a good fit for us, Vallejo / Odriozola / Vázquez / Ceballos / Theo Hernandez / Ødegaard

So have Barca as well to a lesser extent with Alena / Umtiti etc.

Thats just the Manc Norwegian dickhead Ole working his magic in the transfer market

Indeed

The last time Utd made such moves look how it turned out-

Paid 30m for Shaw who was given a 6 figure deal. It takes him 5 years at Utd to surpass his league games haul at Southampton (which he left at eighteen).

Now he's already signed an extension and a hike on his already extravagant wages barely giving 4-5 months of decent service in 5 years.

The other is Martial who had a great first season and then regressed under Mourinho.

Signed a massive 250k plus deal in the winter and done nothing of note since.

Mourinho left both out at times and fell out with them and once they somehow got back in the team they were in prime position to negotiate their new deals.

All those rumours of Fergie guiding his young padawan. It's little wonder Pogba is off, that they've re-hired Mike Phelan, and are now trying to sign every middling British talent about. All just so laughable.

Bournemouth have completed the signing of Lloyd Kelly. Sky Sports News understands the fee is £13m.

Atletico Madrid are hopeful of replacing the outgoing Antoine Griezmann with Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix, who has been linked with a host of top European clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund - report Marca.

Everton are very interested in signing Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer,Sky Sports News understands.

Chelsea could turn their search for a new striker towards Ajax's David Neres with Luka Jovic poised to sign for Real Madrid, according to PA Sport.

The kid doesn't mess about.

Speaking following accepting the Ligue 1 Player of the Year Award, Kylian Mbappé declared that he would be open to a new challenge.

"This is a very important moment for me. I am arriving at the second turning point in my career. I have discovered an enormous amount of things here. It is maybe the moment to have more responsibilities, maybe at PSG, with pleasure, or elsewhere for a new project. In any case thanks everyone!”

Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone afterwards, Mbappé added:

“I said what I had to say. When you are in such an occasion you can send messages, I think I have sent mine. If I speak more it will be too much and that is not the message I wish to send.”

Mbappe has shown this season that he's a much less likeable guy than I initially thought.

What top player is? I can't think of one that wasn't a dick at points in their careers

He's become one of the worst divers in Ligue 1. Can you say that about every top player?

I blame refs almost as much for players diving.
They give fouls and yellow cards like confetti outside the box then ignore the same fouls in the box.

Not surprising. After United, I suggested he might seek to leave.
The Spanish clubs will be losing their minds. Nobody’s returning Pogba’s calls now.

Emery doesn't know how to use a number 10 so James is a no no.
I would love Isco as i think his ball retention skills would come in useful for us.
The away legs at Napoli and Valencia showed how lacking we are in that department with Ozil the only guy who was able to retain the ball in the press.

Emery definitely knows how to use a 10, he even has a pretty unique perspective on the role as seen during his time in Spain. I unfortunately agree with the idea that James is a bit Ozil-ish these days. We need a reliable, athletic, creative 10 with a Ramsey-ish type of profile, if any. We also just need a player who is hungry.
