Sky Sports are also reporting that City want Joao Felix to replace David Silva.
Other clubs transfer thread summer 2019 edition (Official: Madrid sign Hazard)
Fernandes is an incredible player but I fear Rodri is the guy who'll push City up a level. He's like a more athletic version of Busquets not as well polished but definitely the closest thing around.
Fuck City.
Gundogan Mahrez double swoop for us. They probably don't even care about the money.
Rodri has looked silky whenever I've seen him

They'll care if we don't have CL football.

I was talking about City actually.

lol - my bad.
You should write click bait headlines for the Mail.

Fucking hell what a headline for the thread
Bayer Leverkusen sign attacking midfielder Kerem Demirbay from Hoffenheim.

Does that mean Brandt is really off this summer and they have signed his replacement ?
Hopefully Zaha warns Wan-Bissaka against going to the manu graveyard.

Was linked with us.
Doubt it but if we want someone from Leverkusen we should sign Havertz
Havertz will possibly go for 100m, 0% chance for that one. If we have that kind of money we should put it into someone like Dybala anyway, Havertz is immensely talented but probably not worth that much while Dybala would be an immediate success.
Good that we didn't get Demirbay hes nowhere near good enough. Bit of a prick too.

Have seen him 'linked' to a move to OT - don't give it much credence without being able to give CL football and a team built around him.
Would absolutely love to have him & would sanction the sale of Ozil & Lacazette if needed to raise funds & wages.
L'Equipe reporting that Hazard will be sold to Real for 100m euros, will be announced after the Europa League final:

Good riddance, be far easier to enjoy watching him now.

TBH I think that is cheap when you look at the price paid for Coutinho.

looking at those starts & positions he needs to find a position/role to call his own, and it looks like he's most productive as AML
Catalunya Radio and some other sites reckon that De Ligt will be announced as a Barcelona player in a few days.

Nah Hazard only have a year left.
Barca signing Griezmann, activated his 125m euros release clause.
Christ.

Link saying that they've done this? Also lol. They could've gotten Jovic for that price.
You'd think Umtiti and possibly Dembele will be up for sale if Griezmann & De Ligt join. Wonder what they'll do with Coutinho as well, Dembele when fit has shown great form whereas Coutinho has been a complete flop for them.
[edit]Forgot they’ve got Malcom as well, he hasn’t really done much since joining either.
You don't think Griezmann will play CF for them?
Real and barca arms race is back on. Should be a few quality players looking for new homes
Malcom, Rakitic, Umtiti, Suarez would be first on the list.
Coutinho next.
Why would they sell Dembele?
He’s injury prone and there have been a lot of questions about his attitude and commitment at the club. Not saying they will sell but De Jong, De Ligt & Griezmann is around €300m worth of talent so they’ll be looking to recoup money where they can.
Quincy Abeyie wrote:You don't think Griezmann will play CF for them?
You’d think one of the wide positions with Suarez in the middle. They’ll probably try to get one more
When Utd were in for Greizmann Atletico had all but agreed a deal for Lacazette.
I wouldn't be surprised if they go for him.
They have 220m euros from the sales of Greizmann and Hernandez plus whatever their budget is for the summer.
2 of their biggest earners are off the wage bill also- Greizmann was about on par with Ozil on wages.
It will be interesting
Atlético will have a ton of money this season, it spells bad news for teams on that level (below Barca, Real, Bayern, City etc)
I can see Atlético coming to us for either Lacazette or Aubameyang
Bayern have been linked with Sane. It seems that they have been given permission
And doing what exactly? They won’t take on Auba’s wages.
And Atletico are more likely to find the next big stars. So I would fear for the likes of Rennes and Sampdoria, etc. those are the clubs who will feel Atletico’s pain.
Then Atletico will set aside some money for stadium as well.
I don't think they will sign Auba at all.
Lacazette might be one because of their past interest.
BUT they can easily afford the wages of Auba.
Greizmann is paid nearly double of what Auba is paid. He earns in excess of 20m euros a year.
There is a reason they managed to keep Godin too for all these years when he was one of the top 3 CB's on the planet and it just isn't loyalty alone.
I know what Griezmann makes. I know that he sits around 400,000 Euros a week and they have Koke and Costa on about 150,000 Euros. Then they typically keep players well under 100,000 Euros. Griezmann is an outlier. I also know that they do not have the capacity to pay a lot of players large amounts of money. It's simple economics. We make 50% more revenue than them, and Barca/Madrid make more than 100% more than them.
Despite this massive disadvantage, they are also paying around 50m Euros + interest per year on the stadium.
So, no, I am not worried about Atletico making a big capex outlay on our players and in addition paying a massive salary. I expect wise stewardship to help them meet their obligations. And then they would probably go the Liverpool route and invest in players who have lower opex commitments even if they have some initial capex, so they do not become millstones.
They're going to make CL revenue again and have 220m on sales alone so far. Even with the debt they have money to buy.
Add that Godin and Greizmann will be about 500-600k removed from the wage bill.
I think even with the interest on the stadium they can pay big fees and wages.
Financially they have the capability to take on Auba's or any of our players in terms of salary IMO.
Going to be a big summer for them-
Lemar hasn't been great and they might get rid
Rodri is attracting bigger clubs
They need to make a decision on Morata to buy or not
Costa has been a massive disappointment (Can they pack him off to China like Jackson)
