Busy day at Atletico Madrid as Manchester City have triggered the buy out clause of Rodri and he is on his way out.

On the other hand Ateltico have announced Joao Felix for a staggering fee from Benfica and have also signed Hector Herrera and Felipe from Porto and left back Renan Lodi from Athletico Paranaense in Brazil.

Big boy maneuvers. That’s how you get down. Not prank calling every team in Europe like a certain London club.

Di Marzio: "Breaking, Napoli is making a serious attempt to buy Icardi and is willing to offer 60M euro + bonuses to Inter, the player however is waiting as he'd favor a move to Juventus"

[Di Marzio] Juventus offer Ajax €55m + €10m in bonuses for Matthijs de Ligt

To get Maguire you have to pay a lot more.

Joachim Andersen to Olympique Lyonnais, done deal. He’ll sign for 5 years, €25M + €5M add ons to Sampdoria. Arsenal have never been interested in him. Andersen is ready to join OL. Here we go

Thanks for the updates! Hector herrera is a good signing for Atleti

Thanks HomeSteak. Would have loved to get Guerreiro out of that list. The other one I'd love to get in on is 25M for Mancini. Holding, Mancini and Saliba will have our defense sewn up for the next 10 years (or till one of them runs his contract down and leaves on a free).

Guerreiro for 15m looks like a bargain until you remember he's built from the same material Sturridge and Ramsey are

Mancini for 25m would be great business. Shame we're not even linked

So annoying. I really like Mancini.
It feels like our club is inert. We could be refreshing our back line with a guy like this. He’ll probably end up being as good as 70m pound Maguire

The agent of Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes is in the UK to thrash out a deal with Manchester United, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solakjaer wants to bolster his midfield this summer after losing Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera, and is a big fan of the 24-year-old – who scored 32 goals in 50 appearances last season.

Fernandes signed a five-year contract last summer with a release clause of £31m, but Sky Sports claim Sporting are hoping to get more than £50m for the Portugal international.

Please interpret

Perez for 30m. Incredible

Imagine if PL clubs spent the amount of money they waste on average mid table players on developing their academy, youth set up and local grass roots football.

Perez hit a good run of form but 30m is pretty excessive. That's the market for you now though.

I would honestly not be surprised Maguire goes for 80m and above.

I wonder where he is going?

😆 What did he do to set everyone against him that way?

He's a horrible bastard. I'm not surprised.

China.

I don't think many top Italian players leave Italy if given the choice between an Italian and English/foreign side.

Inter just signed Lucien Agoume, the youngest player to ever debut in Ligue 2.

Looks like a very promising talent and worth a 5m euro punt. I wonder why we were never interested in him.

I suspect they’re rarely given the choice. Why do so many of their top managers follow the big bucks to London? If clubs do their job instead of lumping 70m on Maguire, then we will see two things - more Italians and more sensible pricing on Englishmen. The English premium is the best example of gross mismanagement

You make a good point Claude about Italian players not given a choice.

However, I feel like most Italian players dream of playing for a top Italian side like their English (Wilfried Zaha) counterparts do. Mancini grew up as a huge Inter and Marco Materazzi fan.

Both us and Inter are trying to use this our advantage with Nicolo Barella recently refusing to talk to Roma as he only wants Inter.

Agree. But other than Juventus, these clubs can’t match the English teams for wages. All the talented kids at Roma could easily be absorbed by top 6 clubs. It would be sad for Serie A, but would be a massive upgrade on some of the scouting done by United and Arsenal especially.

Meh. We get Tierney, Zaha and a good centreback we’ll have improved far more then they will have

It’s the middle that holds everything together. I feel like we have a hole where the heart should be.

I think it'll ne Lo Celso or Ceballos for Eriksen. Neither of those two are in the same class as the player they're going to lose.

Torreira-Pulgar-Ceballos would be a very good central midfield and would cost all of £10m this summer.

Pulgar ahead of Xhaka would be a promising gamble. I like his passing range and tackling ability. Would be nice if he was a little more two footed, but he looks better than Xhaka. Wondering if safer to keep Xhaka or best to sell him to fund Ceballos/winger.

People are signing Ndombele and Rodri, Pulgar is bang average.

Those guys are also £60m. Are you or Stan chipping in?

We have to do that as those are Champions League clubs.
Manu are trying to match them and have ended up having to bribe players.

Whatever United are doing is not normal. They’ve inflated everyone simultaneously. It’s part of why we have to get rid of Ozil. He was creating an expectation for guys like Ramsey around what they were worth. With Ozil off the team, it’s easier to negotiate with players on board about what’s possible going forward. Otherwise we’ll end paying a Rashford 200k/ week

Elsewhere, 58m pounds doesn’t get you much these days

Chelsea must love doing deals with Atletico

Atletico aren’t great financial stewards. If they call regarding Lacazette, we should do them and rebuild our team.

Joachim Andersen is being sold for 24m euros + 6m in bonuses to Lyon according to Samp's president.

I would never imagine Atletico being so much richer than us just 6 years ago.

This is true but it's not just Ozil.
We have been unable to offload players as poor as Jenkinson for several years because nobody will match their wages.
spurs who utilise bonuses much more than all the other clubs around them have players easy to sell and mostly only, handsomely, reward the deserving players.

They received close to 300m for just three players tbf

We should be looking for around 35m for Chambers judging by the market prices.
