  • Other clubs transfer thread summer 2019 edition (Official: Madrid sign Hazard)

That’s a really good price if it goes through. One of the top emerging striking talents.
Hard to see why we would make an approach. We have two really good strikers, one still in his prime. How do you make an investment in a guy like Luka when you still have two guys like Auba and Lacazette? You’d need to sell one.

Pogba sending mixed messages - backing Ole but also saying he'd love to play for Real Madrid.

Jovic will never go for 50m no chance. Hes already one of Europes best strikers at 21 ffs, ice cold in front of goal, two footed great in the air, pace and strength and hes showing real playmaking qualities in the last few months. Wouldn't even answer the phone below 70m

Is he a poacher type or an all round striker?

Jones is the expert on Jovic, but I'd say he's an all around striker. Doesn't have many weaknesses, if any.

I think he is going to for a lot more than that initial offer. There are many teams desperate for a forward next summer like Real.

Watch out for this kid this summer:

I think he will go for a boat load of money. He's already got women sending him nudes on Instagram 😆

man united have been hovering around him for a while. he looks pricey based on that comp alone

Joa Felix is good looking as well, next Cristiano Ronaldo? Probably worth a lot of image rights in near future, worth an investment.

Jovic seems to play deeper whenever I seen him and yet he scores a lot. Really remind me of a young Aguero in style.

So many top striking talents emerging currently, we better be proactive to secure one first option

Saul going to City for about 80m it seems

Chelsea can't register new players this summer, can they? If they lose Hazard, can see them falling out of the top 6.

Barca may be looking to offload Umtiti if they sign De Ligt, looking like they will get him. Ordinarily I'd say we should be all over that but we ain't got a chance in hell tbf.

Also Barca doing some unreal transfer business, buying up all the top young talent.

If they get De Ligt, why would they offload their other great CB? They use two.

Have they signed any young forwards? They can't rely on Messi forever.

They are rumored to be after Jovic, although he is probably more of a Suarez replacement. I hope they make a bid for some of the City guys like Sterling, KDB, Bernardo. They’re Barca-level players, and we could do with some weakening of the Citizens.

They'd have De Ligt, Umtiti, Lenglet, Todibo & Pique all fighting for two positions. Can't see them offloading Pique, they've just signed Todibo & Lenglet so you'd think it would be Umtiti.

They have Dembele and look like they will be sign Jovic as well. That should be two of their front three sorted!

There are rumours of them sniffing around Lyon's Mendy as well

Frankfurt's other forward is supposed to be good too- Haller

Supposed to be a bulldozer.

We need mobile strikers, enough of those bulldozers unless his name is Ibra.

I think it will be a great idea to pick up scraps from the top clubs like Madrid and Barca. Juventus uses this way to rebuild their squad and then pinch top talents from smaller clubs in their league.

I had a slim hope that isco would be dislodged. Him and solari weren't getting on. Zizou might re-engage him now

Asensio as well, he can't be happy with his lack of playing time. Odriozola might we worth a punt for a backup RB

He was already benched for a while when Zidane left.

6 days later

Uhm... Bayern have just bought Lucas Hernandez for €80 million.

Worst kept secret in football, total transfer plus wages almost 160m.

Basically they just bought France's fullbacks, trying to recreate the Sagnol/Lizarazu days

Lucas Hernandez gets 300k a week, making him by far the best paid player at Bayern? That doesn't sound right to me.

We should go for Alaba, he’s a gooner too.

Sorry for being unclear, the reports include agent fees etc.

Would love to see that but his fee is likely to be more than our total reported transfer budget.
We would also need to ensure top4/CL qualification as well as sell our current top earners like Ozil & Mkhi.

Is the Alaba of now as good as he was when Munich were tops though?

Not even remotely. His peak was around 2014 been stagnating or declining ever since

Yeah he's been pretty average and on the decline sadly. There are shit load of upcoming LBs worth buying though.

Anyway, 2 defenders straight into the top 10 most expensive signings this month. We gonna need loads of cash to buy some top defenders if we want

Hopefully we won't buy another number 14 again. Easily the 2nd worst defender pound for pound on that list

2 things stand out here.
1) Manchester City's excess
2) Mustafi.

We dont need to spend 40m+ for a good defender. Decent scouting - which we used to be known for - can get us a mainstay in the backline for less than 10m. Konate, Pavard, Upamecano, Diallo, Ndicka, Zagadou etc pp theres so much talent just in France who easily made the step up from Frances first and second division to the German top flight, and none of them cost even 10m

yeah that reminded me of something houston rocket's gm daryl morey said after chandler parsons signed a huge deal with dallas in 2014.

"The teams that find the Chandler Parsons, not the ones that pay them the max, are the ones that succeed long term."

Don't like the idea that they are shipping so many shit players out because like what Ricky said in the other thread their potential to improve is immense. With their spending power they could easily build half a new squad of talents.

manyoo doesn't just get to say we want alexis gone and it's done. who do you all think is going to take him and his wages? they are stuck with him until 2022.

Although Ricky is right in that they have the biggest upside, we also need to acknowledge that they have the worst recruiting of the big 4. Their judgment is clouded by commercial concerns, a shocking short-termism and they overestimate the level of competition for players, resulting in them regularly overpaying for players by mad amounts. The first two have been especially debilitating. If they figure out how to overcome them AND Solskjaer proves to a good manager, then we can discuss their longterm success. At present, I'm not worried.

If they finish outside top 4, do they sack Solskjaer?

Why would they do such a ridiculous thing?
