Auba has missed some high profile big chances too though. Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that Kane has taken more shots he's Cristiano level in terms of taking dumb ass potshots from anywhere

Auba doesn't take pot shots from anywhere, not nearly as much as Kane and even Aguero to an extent, so all his shots are from good positions, which makes his misses look more glaring, that's how I'd look at it.

He has but so has Aguero. A big difference is City have more scorers and create more chances after so people forget about the ones he's missed.

It's not perception bias. Nobody says he scores on fewer of his shots than than his competition, it's the big, "easy" chances. Like you said, Aguro has one more goal than Auba. Auba has missed 19 big chances and Aguero has missed 10. Auba's movement is excellent, but he's not clinical enough when he gets to those big chances. That he doesn't take as many potshots is good, but it change that.

Yep, we are talking about sitters missed. The kind that is extremely glaring. If you compiled the top 10 misses of the season Auba will have at least half there.

Expected goals is probably a better comparison of how clinical the strikers are. Auba scores as much as he is expected to over the course of his career as a striker, nothing less nothing more.

The better strikers, those that can create goals out of nothing scores much more than expected, but other than that serial bottlers like Cavani and Lewandowski is pretty normal as well, doesn't score much more than expected in terms of quality of chances.

This year probably because of all the sitters missed, but got back from some long range strikes he is still the only underperforming top striker.

Speaks to the quality of chance creation for him and for our strikers this season. Hardly do they ever have to pull a rabbit out of the hat to score their goals.

Surprised that Lukaku has scored more than his xG. Sterling has massively improved his efficiency this season.

Getting a winger
Getting a CM
Getting a back-up goalkeeper if Napoli doesn't sign Ospina
Getting an LB

I agree but if we only have £50m to spend like some journalists have suggested then we need to sell players to generate money. I'd rather we had more goals from out wide than having to chop and change between strikers.

That is what he definitely has, add that to his pace and not hard to see why he scores so many. You just need to look at his stats over the past year or so against the Top 6

being lumped in with serial bottlers like cavani and lewa sounds about right for auba after watching him with arsenal.
