He is a vile yoke but he's being supported by McConnell and Barr.

We have the system in place to consider concerns and President Trump is 100% within his rights to look into allegations of irregularities and weigh his legal options

Are there any "substantial allegations" or credible evidence of fraud?

Is there even any objective media investigation into the allegations that have been made?
Or is this really the GOP entertaining the tantrum throwing Trump until such a time as it becomes expedient to hang him out to dry?

I'm not entirely unconcerned that he won't pull this off.

Not a shred of evidence has come to light. Something like 10 lawsuits by the trump campaign have already been tossed out in various swing states. Feels more like grandstanding to appease trump and his base. They need to keep them onside so they can win those georgia senate seats. He can go buy OAN or breitbart and whinge about voter fraud for the rest of his days

Anyone reckon he was hoping for more of a backlash from his base? His supporters are parroting his claims but you've not exactly seen a wave of protests and demonstrations have you?

He doesn't need a big wave of protests and demonstrations. He just needs to seed enough doubt in the effectiveness of the democratic system. Which he has started doing. Y va is right. The fact that the leader of the Senate and the head of the Senate judicial committee are running with his fantasies is destructive.

Note that the only Republicans who have spoken against him are those with no ambition: George Bush Jr, Kasich, Mitt Romney. Ambitious Republicans are backing him - either in recognition that he has hijacked the party (Graham/McConnell) or in hope that they acquire the base (Rubio, Cruz, etc.)

It's funny though, the guy keeps claiming of voter fraud (especially in cities where black people predominantly live) but wants to convince everyone that the 70 million votes he keeps boasting about are totally above board.

Very good article by Greenwald. The whitewashing of some of the worst war criminals of the 21st century using some of the most obvious strategies ever is nauseating.

What are you talking about? His editors refused to publish his work because they're sell outs and have long given up appearing as actual journalists, also regardless on your view he founded the website himself and had it written in his contract that he couldn't be censored other than for legal reasons. I don't know about Reed but Maass is definitely an arrogant and lying hack, their demand that not only he removes the critical parts of Biden but also that he doesn't publish them elsewhere should tell you all you need to know about how this situation came to be.

Eh, while I agree with everything he says and have been saying exactly this myself for years, his writing is laden with bitter editorializing and fundamentally relies on whataboutery. It's just bad journalism, and more than a little self-congratulatory.

The axe-grinding in the media is seriously exhausting, and Greenwald is doing no better on that front.

How is it whataboutery when he's criticising that Trump's real and perceived crimes are used to whitewash people who have committed very real and far worse crimes? It's basically the exact opposite of whataboutery.

I'd be bitter too if I were him. He founded the Intercept because he wasn't able to publish what he wanted elsewhere, he gets stick because of failings of the paper attributed to him and years later he has to leave it for the same reason he founded it, leaving it in the hands of a complete piece of shit like Peter Maass to boot.

Feels like his war on american institutions will come to a head in the next few weeks. If i had to guess at what the scheme is, its that they keep attempting frivolous lawsuits in these states in order to stall the state certification of the votes beyond the mandated deadlines. That way they can attack the electoral college process ie 'how can electors choose the president when all these votes aren't even certified'. I understand bidens decision to remain sanguine about all this, but if it keeps on going it will have to be addressed
