His home record isn’t bad though.
We finished a single point behind Tottenham. Lost 10 games all season, vs Chelsea’s 8 and Tottenham’s 13 and Manchester Utd’s 10. Yes we dropped off terribly towards the end of the campaign but now It’s clear which areas need to be improved, and although we didn’t play the best football many games, I think we had enough positive games against big clubs that give me hope for a brighter future.
I don’t see the point in sacking him now, and from those folks who have never liked him, and weren’t willing to really give him a chance in the first place, I’d ask why hinge his continued employment on a one off cup game? If you think he should be fired, then stick with that. Even after Wenger won the last 2 FA Cups, I still knew what I was certain had to happen for us to move forward as a club.
Hopefully he will be backed in the transfer window, if not, and the expectation is that we should be able to compete with this squad, then I’d say go ahead and fire him and let’s bring in someone who management thinks can achieve that with current resources. Don’t think you’ll find that nearly as easy as some would have you believe.
