After losses i have heard players publicly say they didn't follow the managers instructions. At first i didn't think much of it but after it happened a few times i wondered of this is was the polite/cowardly way of them saying to the higher ups 'we're not listening to this guy'

Unai said the same thing last night:

Emery on the defeat: "I was angry with me. We didn't do the game plan so I was angry with myself"

I don't think it's that they don't want to listen, they talk very well about Unai, and have been since day 1. I really believe they like him.
I think it's more of how weak they are mentally and they simply can't follow instructions. They get scared the second things don't go their way and they panic and they fuck up.

I'm fine with Aaron going. I'll miss the 20 games a year he's amazing. But what this team needs is stability. We need a core of players who can give us 30-35 very good games. No more letting strikers run past you, being unable to beat a fullback, not putting in a shift in midfield, etc.

Still not sure how you achieve that by letting your best players leave on a free, especially when you have a transfer budget that barely covers a pint of milk and some bread from the corner shop.

people focus too much on the average players, but you can tell what a team is about by who their top earners are.

Particularly with the reports of the club imposing a wage restriction on the summer transfer business.

For mind it's another cop out by the club to hide their lack of ambition behind, but I'd still gut the squad regardless even if it took 6 months for the new players to gel - not because of any wage restriction, but simply because this squad needs an enema to remove the remnants of a failed decade.

Case in point man united. They have some questionable characters getting top billing and top wages. That has an impact on the rest of the squad, and how much scope you have to actually fix things

Mkhitaryan we’d be able to get rid of I think, doesn’t seem the type to stick around when he’s not wanted and I can see him in Italy, Russia or even China.

Ozil will be here next season, just don’t see how he leaves.
