So while he has this thing with Ozil, apparently Laca is not happy with how much he gets subbed off(today he looked ok). This is what Laca’s agent posted on twitter “is this substitution the last straw?”.

Really hope he can keep the dressing room at peace.

Isn’t Emery’s whole thing that he wants his team to run hard at the opposition, and then he pulls off one or two guys to send a few more fresh legs to keep the intensity up? If he deems Laca best target for subs, so be it. The agent needs to STFU. The boy got a great goal, we got an excellent win. What more does he want? A handjob with that?

For me, this game has not proved Emery is the right man for the job, nor did previous results prove he is the wrong man for the job.

We've seen flashes of brilliance and moments of madness. This is all part of the process of Season One. Next year should be more of an Emery side than a Wenger one. This is when he will be truly judged.

A lot of people don't want him to have one. Would really love us to get top four so he can roll into a second season with a bit of fan favour on his side.

I find it astounding that people consider our club to be some kind of developmental project where you sacrifice entire seasons so you can be good in some other season in the future. Honestly, no big club thinks this way. I thought one of the reasons for getting rid of Wenger was to get rid of this shit mentality as well.

I'm not saying Emery needs to win the league now, but he needs to show tangible improvement compared to last season. Otherwise, what's the point? If we get top four I'll certainly be happy.

IMO the improvements are there however the short comings of this team and squad (along with 3 season ending injuries) are undermining the efforts to sustain progress.

Sorry but I don't get that logic. If the new manager cannot do better with the squad and team we have, why hire a new manager? That's very unambitious thinking. The question is not what a manager can do with a new fantasy football team, the question is if he is getting the best out of the players he has. That's basically the minimum you expect and the reason Mourinho and Wenger were sacked.

I also disagree with your first observation but I think that's been discussed to death already.
