I know Emery has picked poorly in some matches this season and it has cost us but he can only rotate with the players he has. I wish he chanced more with his best players not fearing heavy legs at this stage of the season but then he has his style. He has played some defensive formations but the team hasn't lacked intent. He is trying to get us to move forward and attack without the personnel to do so. He is trying to improvise for our personnel at the back. I would rather he just played without that inhibition. He like Wenger is an attack minded manager and it's evident in our goals scored column as well as the intent we play with. He like Wenger seems to be defensively incapable but it's not for a lack of tactical acumen but attacking managers need top defensive personnel. Look at the difference one signing has made for Liverpool. Emery is a top manager as was Wenger who lost his touch with recruiting players. I hope Emery makes the right moves with the technical team in the summer. Our defensive record won't improve with these players no matter who the attack minded manager is. Even a defensive manager will struggle.

Regarding Emery team selection, yes he made a mistake trusting those shit players and thinking he can get away with it. But he corrected it well in the 2nd half and we are well on top with many chances till that idiot killed our momentum and the team tanked after that. Not to mention the referee...

Its clear Emery hasn't wanted to use some of these players and now feels he needs to due to injury and fatigue. They are shit but they are not his players.

If we are stuck with a europa budget again, the combo of no funds and no technical director, plus the amount of aging players we have will prevent us from anything approaching a proper rebuild

That suarez signing is a worrying sign of the profile of player we'll be targeting

If we sign Suarez permanently it'd be a very bad sign. The loan was disappointing but a fair move in isolation. We really should have signed a couple of players in January though, it would have seen us safely into the top 4 and paid for itself.

I think the club didn't want to sign those stop gaps without proper budget, so I'm willing to give them to benefit of doubt and see what we will do in the summer.

I think it's clear the main priority is really to ship players out first and consolidate the total budget we have to allocate for reinforcements.

This rivals Kallstrom for wastefulness. Before he was injured, we could’ve used hik, just to keep the team fresh, and give us a Mkhitaryan stand-in.

We spent the entire month to get him in and he's barely had a look-in.

Since he majorly came in because of his prior working relationship with Emery it's not good from the manager's perspective that he's hardly played for whatsoever reason be it lack of quality etc.

Emery has to realise our standards are higher than Sevilla.

if emery personally believed in him and wanted him he would be playing. he doesn't make those decisions and rightfully so.

It'll be devastating to the Emery era if we don't squeeze into the CL next season. I'm sure the players understand this too, and with the collapses going on at other clubs we can still do it.

However, if we don't, Emery will probably end up moving on in a year or two, and the winters will be pretty cold for a few years.

We need that money and prestige to drive back towards the top of the table. We need to be comfortably ahead of a declining, chaotic Chelsea, a self-harming United and a debt-loaded Spurs.
